Good Afternoon I have your kc-135r and the 707-320c, both of them are great models. I want to know if is possible that you make a new version, the latin american version of the tanker, the kc-137 which is a 707-320C cargo version rebuilt in israel with the MPRS. You have this great models and the MPRS is just merge them. I'm a fsds 2.24 and 3.51 designer, i can help you if you whish, some of my planes are a MiG-29, Kfir C7, Mirage 5COAM just to mention some of them Here some pics of the colombian Kc-137 Thanks a lot for this planes Eduardo Fadul

Berserk Welcome to the forums I have seen your modelling and enjoyed your modifications for Simsheds' C-130, they were very high quality and an excellent effort! Firstly, It is a 707-379C(KC), not a KC-137.......there is no such aeroplane! a C-137 is the military designation for the 707 that was built exclusively for the USAF. Our resident model maker is "away" on business for a while, so we have no current plans for this until at least September We have the non-wing pod version available for download I must stress though, I have noted that you did do modifications to Alrots' model on simviation, and if you were to carry out a modification to our models, please communicate both with Mark a.k.a "Aerofoto" and Gary Carlson via PM. I can help you no further than this Regards Ben

Hi Ben, as Chris and Mark says the Kc-137 is like an indigenous name that we assign to those planes, at the begining she was call C-135 Stratolifter, the colombian model is a 707-320 bought to korean airlines and then modificated in israel to cargo and tanker.
With Alrot we had told and we both decided make the tanker with his planes as base, however he had problems with some people about the gauges, and we he saw that i took his model and become the transformation he become really annoying, then i reply to his post remembering that we had agree do that work, that i can import his model and he dont say nothing at that time, and he accede that he has annoying with the other people and discharge his angry with my, for that i decided dont do that transformation.
Best Regards
Eduardo Fadul

Im not out to cause an argument, but this can't be an official designation, especially considering the aircrafts' airline histories (ex Varig, World etc). Take for example FAC1201's history. 19716 644 03.11.67 N368WA World AW 13.11.67 373C AP-AWD PIA lsd 01.09.70 N368WA World AW ret 30.06.71 Korean AL lsd 20.04.72 HL7425 Korean AL 31.03.76 www.airliners.net/open.file/130029/M/ FAC1201 Colombian AF 14.12.83 C sGuatemala 12.96 (not ARC-707, see 20301), Esc. 711 based Bogota, s12.00 good cond, since 06.04 "Zeus 20 Años" big titles because of 20 years of service, sBOG 25.06.05 active, s03.08.06 silver;all paint removed, s11.01.07 hangar being painted in grey, sis BOG 19.06.07 nc www.airliners.net/open.file/199404/M/ www.airliners.net/open.file/1239728/M/ oc/nc I assume this is a name of the conversion? "Berserk" has stated that IAI did the conversions for the MPRS Pods, designed by Beechcraft and implemented originally on N792TW, later the KC-135R conversion (exept the tailboom versions, which were conveted by BMAC), so how come the Israelis do not designate their 707's "KC-137s" if it was part of the same conversion kit? As regards the modelling.....this is a really huge task!! We would need to create: 367-80 W/Tail Boom & square EC-135 Nose 707-320B S2HK MPRS W/Tail Boom 707-320B S2HK MPRS 707-320B MPRS W/Tail Boom 707-320B MPRS 707-320C With Rounded EC-135 nose (IAI Phalcon conversion) 707-320C S2HK MPRS W/Tail Boom 707-320C S2HK MPRS 707-320C MPRS W/Tail Boom 707-320C MPRS 707-320C W/Tail Boom Stump (like the Vomit Comets have) 707-320C MPRS W/Tail Boom Stump (like the Vomit Comets have) As a painting task.......I could clear these and modify existing textures within a week........no problem! As I said no out to cause an argument, but I believe I have a valid point here Rgds Ben

Totally valid point, but the designation is that assigned by the airforce, not the manufacturer in this case

Totally valid point, but the designation is that assigned by the airforce, not the manufacturer in this case I agree here. This is why the P-3 designations are so far out of wack. P-3P = Portugal P-3T = Thailand P-3K = New Zealand (though their original P-3's were P-3A's, they didn't change the designation till the Kiwi's did some "Kiwi" only mods, on their Bravo Airframes. so they kicked off the wacked out designations. Canada was the one that designated theirs the CP-140 not Lockheed.

With regard to "KC137".It's what's apparently referred to as a "LOCAL DESIGNATION" rather than an official one .... in the FAB case particularly .... according to my own references. I also seem to recall someone previously stating (and this may be completly wrong .... I dunno ) that the FAB aircraft was originally a USAF VC137 .... hence it retained it's numerical designator after conversion to a KC type aircraft for the FAB .... and that this designation "may" also apply to such aircraft employed in dual tanker/transport service. Again I don't know if this is correct though. My only other statement is that I want our Camilo LUENGAS to textruct the FAC version of this aircraft .... once we have the correct model. Regarding new models. I believe it will be "well after September" .... "IF" there are any such new models forthcomming at all. Gary & I have some plans/ideas, but, I'm not disclosing what these may be at this poinnt in time ;D Mark C AKL/NZ

I didn't see anything on any designation references I have either... Though their are two countries calling it that. Only place I see it is airliners.net and other photo sites, and those are hardly a reliable reference point.

All FAB (Força Aérea Brasileira) 707s are former Varig planes. In fact even the one Varig lost in Abdjan was also planned to go to FAB.
As for the KC137 designation I believe it's specific to each airforce. For instance, Canadian airforce calls their 707s CC137.

Taking this discussion, I would like to highlight my interest in the development of a model 707-320C with adaptation to refuel in flight (REVO in our mission code).
I have some photos that can facilitate the modeling. This new model following the two types of paint (vip that have boom too, and low visibility) used by the Brazilian Air Force would be very interesting too.
For changes in the panel, I suggest a system of fuel dump!
