Oh, I may have forgotten that you also have to press the button "Apply to all folders" otherwise your change of settings will only apply to the current active folder .... sorry ....

how do i open it with notepad?...when i click on it it bring my internet explorer up and asks me if i want to save it or open it...

OK ... Start - Run ---> Type "notepad" and hit Enter.... Notepad will now open as a separate window/program. You can now drag and file into this program. and given there is some kind of textual content in the file you will see it. Try it now...
Notepad is an simple text-editor and a lovely small program that will actually make your life easier from now on!
I'll give you a small tip so you will always have it handy....

ok i get as far as start-run and then a small window comes up saying "type the name of a program, folder, document, or internet source, and windows will open it up for you." then it says Open: misconfig (you can change misconfig to something else) and then it says open cancel and brose below it that you can click ....what do i do here?

which panel was it again? the one in the E-3c file or the one in the panel file?...i did get notepad up though=)

The panel.cfg file in the ...\HJG\HJG Boeing E3-C v6\panel folder. Sorry no offence but... Boy! you really ARE IT-imbecile ;D But don't worry I'll get you there in the end, and hopefull you'll learn one or two other things on the way
