It's not so much that the website is "REALLY GROWING". It's just that although civil aircraft production was, for some 3 decades, an almost entirely US dominated industry .... there are indeed other great classic civil jetliners which are more than worthy of representation here among these great US classics ! "World jetliner/airline history" is what we're really all about here at HJG ! Mark C

Sure looks like a MD-something... if it's not a B717, with those huge engines on the tail, I would have to guess it's a MD-90. Then again, if it's 20 years wrong from a B717, it would have to be a MD-80 something..
My 2 cents...cheers, Bob

Some of you guessed much earlier on that it was indeed the DC9 .... and at that point we'd just play the game by SHUTTING-UP and saying nothing .... knowing that someone else would eventually throw everyone else out of whack by guessing wrong .... and then our own little game would continue !!!! Then there were those whom morte recently guessed it was the DC9 .... but .... thought we were just bringing online someone elses previously existing product (like the VISTALINERS version) .... and at which point we told them they were wrong simply because being apparently committed to that prospect they obviously hadn't imagined we might be releasing our very own DC9 model/s ! I quite enjoyed all that ! ;D Mark C AKL/NZ

I just tried out the new DC-9. WOW. This plane is great. Love the way the doors crack and snug too. Textures are out of this world. Are there going to be other models like the baby 9? Also, any chance of having steps for the front door? I don't know who the builder on this plane is, but a while back, I bought a payware DC-9 family. The HJG DC-9 is much better. You guys keep up the good work.

We do hope to add other members of the DC9 in due course .... and my understanding is different stairway configurations may apply to these other prospective aircraft models.
It's probably more appropriate I let Nick BOTAMER (the aircraft modeller in this case) comment regarding this and his future plans for us and the DC9 family .... when he has time to do so.

Also, any chance of having steps for the front door? The forward stairs are extended by using the "Concorde Visor" commands. They aren't preset to any key function in FS, so you have to set up and choose your own hot keys. I suggest setting up the Fully Extend/Fully Retract keys for the best animations. Nick

Thank you, Nick. I think that this is the single BEST DC-9 for fs that has ever been made. The detail blows all the other ones out of the water.

Nick,
Thanks for the great new DC-9. I saw the Republic '1985' and had to have it (one of my favorite liveries). I will probably have most of the fleet shortly.
Is there a key for the wing mounted landing lights? I can see them shining on the ground, but can't figure out how to get them to shine forward.
Cheers, Bob

They should simply rotate forward when you turn on the landing lights, no other command required. There is a pause, but they do rotate on their own.

Thank you Nick,
I think the problem is I'm using FS2k2. The model converted ok, but evidently, that part of the model won't.
Not a big deal, I'll manage without 'em.
Appreciate the quick reply, Bob

My VL assumption was way wrong but I must say, this is an excellent DC9. Just about to fly as I speak. Is the rest of the DC9 family joing too?? Oh, PS: The files on the download page are listed as DC 8-51, should be DC 9-51.

Bob, Yeah, the command uses an FS2004 native variable. Didn't know there was much use of FS2002 anymore. I guess you will just have to fly around in the daylight. Then again, the runway turn off and taxi lights should give you a decent vew in the dark. Nick

Is the rest of the DC9 family joing too?? Eventually. Next up is the Series 20, followed by the Series 40, the 30 then lastly the Series 10. Basically I am going backwards through the real life release order. Somewhere in there will also be the military C-9 variants, although they will probably come after the Series 10. Nick

Cool. Anyone figure out how to use the jetways with them? The plane flies great...I gave my Allegheny 9'ner a run from KPIT to KROC and it flew very nice. Excellent job so far HJG!!
