Yes, Shift-W does the job.

For DC8-10, -20, -30, and -40 only (DC8 SHIP ONE 1959 and all DC8 models after the -40 series do not have Ejectors) there are 2 methods of deploying/retracting the engine Ejectors ....
1. If you are using the correct HJG panels for these aircraft (again DC8-10, -20, -30, and -40 panels only) then you will find, on the Overhead Panel, a pair of switches labeled "EJECTORS".Selecting these switches "ON" will extend the Ejector sleeves on the tail pipes of all 4 engines .... and .... also illuminate the Ejector annunciator lights located at the bottom left of the Main Panel on each of these DC8 panel versions.
2. As advised (above) by both George, and Jim, these engine Ejectors may also be deployed/retracted using SHIFT + W keyboard commands .... and which will also illuminate the associated Main Panel annunciator lights. This method should be used if you are not using the HJG DC8 panels.
FYI .... the purpose of these Ejectors was to assist noise reduction with these early P&W turbojet and RR CONWAY fanjet powered DC8 versions. Contemporary accounts tend to debate just how much noise these really did assist in suppressing though. And .... these Ejectors were typically extended for both T/O and landing .... and normally used within the flap speed range.
An extract from my DC8 manuals indicates that the maximum speeds for the use of these engine Ejectors to have been as follows ....
EJECTOR EXTEND SPEED (P&W JT4) 390 KIAS EJECTOR RETRACT SPEED (P&W JT4) 250 KIAS

Hi, all
as a new comer on this forum, I'm still in trouble with the DC8-70's panel. In fact I'm searching for the "hot point" to cancel the A/P flashing red light (on the Bowtie panel) when the A/P is disengaged. Panel manual says "located above the center of the Bowtie instrument....." but here is nothing in this area to clic !! Waiting for answers or information.. Thanks a lot in advance..

"YES" there is .... though it's not in the form of a button/knob/switch to aim for.
It's a "SILENT" hot-spot .... located about that area of the panel described described .... above the Bowtie Annunciator.
Just feel around there with your Mouse Cursor .... and you "WILL" find it !
Having found that spot .... clicking on it, once only, will cancel the flashing red AP Disconnect lamp.

Hi Mark, tks for the quick answer. After some "sweeping" of the top area, the reactive part is now well localised. Tks again for your help.. A great pleasure to fly with these old and famous aircrafts... back to the 80's and some wonderful flights around the world. Pierre

Hi, all a new problem (if it's one) appears today. During an online flight I was in trouble to switch between the 2 radio com frequencies.. Just be able to do the change via the IvAp (on IVAO network) panel. So, how to do this change on the aircraft panel (nothing found). Thanks in advance... Pierre.

I don't fly online .... so .... I have never experienced such a problem.
Additionally .... those whom I know and that do fly online with these these panel online have never, reported the existence of any radio/frequency related problems on either the main or sub panels ..... to the best of my knowledge.
HOWEVER .... this query is "open to discussion" if anyone wishes to offer "intelligent advise/suggestions".

This will probably seem like a case of nebie syndrome, of course I have been enjoying MSFS since flight 2.0 up through 2004 ACOF (FS9?). However I have downloaded the files to install the DC-8-61 with the Airborne Express livery, and installed the files as outlined in the reame files included. Yet the aircraft doesnt appear in the aircraft selection menu, any thoughts on what I may have errored on?

9 times out of 10 .... these situations are ther result of minor CFG editing errors, or, using texctures with the wrong aircraft base packs.
In particular .... you should check each of the following ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG entries ....
1. Check that the SIM= data line agrees with the AIR.FILE name.
2. Check that the TEXTURE= data line agrees with the texture folder name.
I think the AIRBORNE EXPRESS DC8-61's, like their -63's too, an unlike most other DC8-61 and -63 freighters, were not eqquipped with port side forward fuselage main deck cargo doors, so, you should then be using that texture with our standard DC8-61 base pack, rather than the DC8-61F base pack. The difference here is the AIR.FILE names .... and other CFG data for each.
Any further problem then just copy & paste .... "HERE" .... on the forum .... the [FLTSIM.X] section/ADD TO AIRCRQAFT data for your AIRBORNE EXPRESS texture .... and we'll have a look at it for you and advise accordingly if necessary !

Hello!
I have two questions:
1.) Will there be a new texture of the DC-8-32 of TAE - Sunshine Liner in the next future?
2.) How can I activate the hush-kits of the engines from the DC-8-30 Series? I have the FSX

First question goes as a topic with reference pics in the "Repaint Requests" forum.
Second question goes in the "FSX Support" forum, however the solution put forth earlier in this very thread on how to make the ejectors work should be correct for FSX as well.
