Thanks for the prompt reply! Your figures closely matches my observations, and yes I am using the updated FDE. However, my question wasn't wether my downloaded plane performed according to HJG specifications, but rather how true this is to the real aircraft performance. I had the impression the the TS, Dee Waldron, had flown the real thing. Maybe I got that wrong? Anyway, I would like to once more stress the point that I'm not criticising your work. Mere curiosity led me to ask these questions. Especially the facts that I can climb at 4000 fpm with a fully loaded aircraft and that I have to use close to 90% N1 on approach. If you say that's how the real aircraft behaved, then I'm as happy as can be and will continue to enjoy my 990A.

Actually .... I felt I should provide those figures anyway .... only to indicate what you should be seeing within FS and whilst not knowing what FDE and panel version you currently have installed The stated figures are "CLOSE" to reality .... according to both AOM and FAA documentation we consulted, but, one also needs to bear in mind .... that this's FS .... and FS is far from perfect in many aspects .... and that's about as real as it gets .... with what we've currently got being about as real/accurate as both the host product and our own abilities permit .... at this time !!!! ;D I realize that .... and I don't regard your comments as criticism in any way shape or form Once again .... many aspects of FS are far from perfect. It does impose limitations .... and it's often necessary for us to make compromises in order to achieve what may, at best, be regarded as "reasonably" accurate/acceptable aircraft performances in most cases Mark C AKL/NZ

Yes, creating FDE's can be a tricky process and one in which you never stop learning new things, really. The amount of variables in the .cfg and .air files are vast and once you start realising that many changes you make affects several other variables it can all become a bit daunting. But it still is a lot of fun though.

No, I never flew one. I kicked a few of them many years ago, out in Mojave California.

I kicked a few of them many years ago, out in Mojave California. Ok, I see. I didn't quite understand that part about kicking them though. Do you mean literally kicking it? Sorry, english isn't my mother tongue, as you've probably noticed.

What actually happened here is as follows .... Several years ago we, the HJG community, rigged up a trip-wire in the desert. Dee was walking along blissfully one day .... and not seeing it he walked "bang smack" right into our wire .... and ended up falling flat on his chest in the desert sand right in front of a real live CV880 The rest is up to yours .... and anyone elses imagination And that's the short but unofficial story/explanation .... of how the CV880 came to live at HJG !!!! ;D Mark C AKL/NZ
