Some "ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS" looking subjects there Tom .... many thanks indeed for these ! Once again .... I'd like to take a moment to introduce Tom LE BLANC who's one of HJG's "GUEST PAINTERS" .... and whom works with me on behalf of HJG .... along with Eduardo VILLANUEVA, and Rodolfo ESTRELLA too ! Wow those are some stunning paints! Have been waiting for an original Pink Grinningbird. Have seen the Southwest 727 at Lindberg too. You could have fooled me about any work left. Used to see those grinning birds from miles away. Usually over Mission Bay, North or Balboa Park as a kid. They really stoodout in the Sky! Thanks in advance!

The first time I saw a Southwest 727 was at Houston's Hobby airport, but she still carried PeoplExpress colors. Southwest leased four 727s, if I remember correctly, when PEX went belly up. A few months later I had the pleasure of flying in the cockpit of one of SWAs 727s paimted in the sand/gold color. I think SWA kept the 727s for only a couple of years.
I've found several SWA 727 repaints, but NONE of them truly represented the sand/gold colors; they were either too brown or too 'gold'. The one pictured here looks closest to the real thing that I've found. Can't wait to give it a try.
Thanks for everything, guys,
Bob
