I have downloaded AFG_Caravelle_6n_early, and have followed the instruction to the letter. Now the problem nothing shows up when FS9 is started in the aircraft menu. Also have downloaded the panel, sounds and a 6n texture. What have I missed?

Obviously not .... BUT .... anyway .... The most common reason .... if not "THE ONLY REASON" for this sort of experience .... is usually a simple CFG error. Check that the TEXTURE= entry in your ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data reads precisely according to the actual texture file name for the livery you're wanting to install. For example .... if a texture folder is named texture.air_algerie_1976_6n_7t-val .... then the TEXTURE= line in your ADD TO AIRCRAFT CFG data should then read as follows .... Texture=air_algerie_1976_6n_7t-val Also .... by default the very first line in your ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data will read as follows .... [fltsim.xx] Make sure you edit this line, for the very first texture entry, to read as follows .... [fltsim.0]If you-re adding a chain of textures to the same CFG file these these [FLTSIM.XX] entries will all need to be edited in numerical order and as follows .... [fltsim.0] [fltsim.1] [fltsim.2] etc I'm certain you'll find one of these points is the very nature of the error causing your particular display problem. Make sure you're also using your textures with the correct aircraft base pack files too .... in your case CARAVELLE 6N textures shouls only be used with the CARAVELLE 6N Aircraft Base Pack file Mark C BOG/CO

Thanks for the quick reply, and again, I followed the written instruction, and even your replied instructions, but to no avail. I guess my computer just doesn't like French Aircraft. No problem here have plenty of others to fly. Again thanks.

"TACO" .... there should be no problems whatsoever with either the CARAVELLE textures, Aircraft Base Packs, Panels, Sounds, or Effects files.
"EVERYTHING" we've uploaded conforms to the same HJG installation protocols .... as applies to all the other aircraft files we offer here.
I'd like you to copy & paste "HERE" .... the [FLTSIM.XX] section (only) of the CFG file for the CARAVELLE 6N you're trying to install. If you'll also post here a screenshot image showing the current contents of your CARAVELLE aircraft folder as well .... then this also may be helpful.
Like applies to all our aircraft .... and their supporting installation instructions too .... so long as "everything" is done correctly (preferably as recommended) then there's no logical reason for these files not to display within FS.
Let's see if we can get to the bottom of whatever's going on here in your case .... just so that you may be able to enjoy these "superb French aircraft" .... and because your experience might ultimately benefit someone else too if only we can resolve it.

"TACO" .... another thing I need you to be sure regarding too is that your panel/s and soundpack/s are indeed correctly installed. Just to recap ....
You should have your CARAVELLE 6N Aircraft Base Pack installed inside your FS9 "AIRCRAFT" folder .... of course !
We recommend these CARAVELLE panels be installed inside the FS9 "FSFSCONV" folder (it makes for better/easier/more sensible panel mating among more than 1 aircraft and avoids potential for inadvertent deletion should any aircraft be uninstalled from FS) .... with the default Panel folder (contained inside your CARAVELLE Aircraft Base Pack) then aliased back to this FSFSCONV folder. The slightest error associated with any alias is sufficient to possibly cause an entire aircraft not to display within FS. You need to check that your panel alias too also agrees precisely with the panel file name. Alternatively .... these CARAVELLE panels can, if you wish, be installed directly inside the Aircraft Base Pack folder .... replacing the default Panel folder and eliminating any need for the recommended alias.
Your CARAVELLE soundpack should be installed inside your Aircraft Base Pack .... replacing the default Sound folder. No need for any CFG editing for this particular detail
Somewhere .... within the suggestions provided .... is where, I believe, you'll find you've committed a minor error, but, an error sufficient to cause your aircraft to not display within the FS Aircraft Selection Menu.
Out of curiosity though .... I'd still like to see a copy & paste of your ADD TO AIRCRAFT/|CFG data .... and .... if possible .... an image showing the current contents of your CARAVELLE Aircraft Base Pack folder too.

Hey fellows,
Again thanks for the help, finally, got back to trying to loading the Caravelles. And by golly, I got them loaded.
Congratulations on one fine aircraft, and not to mention the panels and sounds. Thanks again for the help and a great aircraft.

I'm glad you were able to resolve all your problems (I knew you could do it ) and are now obviously able to enjoy these fine aircraft with FS Well .... there's more to come yet ! And ..... actually .... all credit for the CARAVELLE's must got to AFG .... and in particular to Esa, Ari, Benoit, Haakon, and Rui. Remember .... HJG only "host" the CARAVELLE's, and beyond that, our own contributon to this project has really just been the 2 RR AVON turbojet soundpacks .... which Benoit PLAMONDON, and myself, both mastered between us, as well as Mike MONCE's assistance with FDE modifications too. A real "COMBINED EFFORT" is this project. Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi,
I downloaded and installed the Caravelle 6R, and everything seems to be working, except when I hit F2 and advance the throttle on my joystick, there doesn't seem to be any reverse thrust. I've checked this during landings and with aborted takeoffs (no spoilers or braking), but the airspeed continues to increase. Is there something that needs to be armed, other than the spoilers? Any suggestions?

My mistake. I wasn't holding F2 down long enough. Reverse works fine.

Just for the benefit of everyone .... a reminder only .... Make sure the thrust levers are at their fully idle detente before applying reverse thrust after landing There are no known problems associated with reverse thrust and CARAVELLE 6R. Remember too .... CARAVELLE 6R is the only version, released so far, that features reverse thrust. CARAVELLE 1/1A, CARAVELLE 3, and CARAVELLE 6N each lack reversers and therefoe rely upon a braking chute to assist desceleration after landing and prior to hydraulic braking. Please refer to my above CARAVELLE PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES for further information regarding all these details Mark C AKL/NZ

Hello,
I know it's an old topic, but I have exactly the same problem and I am at a loss about what to do.
I downloaded the different models and various liveries of the Caravelle, copying everything that's needed in the aircraft.cfg (included below). But the models don't show up in my aircraft list for FS9 (updated to 9.1).
Now I thought it was me, also installing panels and sounds as well, that made a mistake, but I can't figure out what I did do wrong.
So to check I also downloaded the first model of the Lockheed L1011, with only one livery, the factory one. I left the sounds and panel aliased to the default B737. It also didn't show up.
Next I tried downloading a random aircraft from flightsim.com. Installed it and I could fly it without problems.
Here is a sample .cfg, of the 6N late model (texture folder is called texture.(exact name)):
[fltsim.00] title = AFG Caravelle 6N Corse Air 1984 sim = AFG_Caravelle_VI-N model = panel = sound = texture = corse_air_1984_6n_f-bvpz panel_alias = sound_alias = kb_checklists = Caravelle6n_check_gb kb_reference = Caravelle6n_ref_gb atc_id = F-BVPZ atc_airline = CORSE_AIR atc_flight_number= 601 atc_id_color = atc_parking_types = atc_parking_code = ui_manufacturer = Sud Aviation ui_type = SE-210 Caravelle 6N ui_variation = Corse Air (1984) description = AFG Caravelle 6N. \n \n REPAINT BY RUI CRISTINA
[General] (...)
Anything I can do to solve the problem?

Rename [fltsim.00] to [fltsim.0] and you're solved!

9 times out of 10 times aircraft not appearing within the MFFS Aircraft Selection Menu is the result of an ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG error of some sort .... including this case too. Have a look at the very first line in the ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data .... in particular the [FLTSIM.XX] which in your case currently reads as follows .... [fltsim.00] .... BUT .... should actually read like this .... [fltsim.0]Note the single "0" ! So long has you've mated your CORSE AIR CARAVELLE 6N texture with the CARAVELLE 6N (LATE) Aircraft Base Pack .... and have made no errors in regard to either your Panel or Sound installations for this aircraft .... then your CORSE AIR CARAVELLE 6N should appear fine within the MSFS Aircraft Selection Menu .... under the "SUD AVIATION/SE-210 CARAVELLE 6N" title. If it still doesn't appear .... "THEN" .... you need to look much more closely at all of the related CFG data entries. 1 simple/inadvertent error is sufficient to potentially cause any FS aircraft not to display. The same also applies to your L1011 too .... BUT .... beyond simply mentioning this (here) I don't want to pollute the CARAVELLE SUPPORT forum page with LOCKHEED SUPPORT related items. Mark C AKL/NZ

Wow it was this easy. Now you say it, I see it was clearly stated in your previous reply to the topic starter. I guess I needed someone else to point out my ignorance Anyway, thanks a lot, it works like a charm now. Really looking forward to flying this beautiful bird after some ultra modern A320 action.
