Interesting modifications amigo .... bringing this panel closer to the AEROCONDOR COLOMBIA (ex AMERICAN AIRLINES) standard !
I know of a few other similar modifications .... performed by other users, whom competent at doing so, and which are all based on their either their various preferences or experience .... or both !
Although we/HJG don't provide assistance to folk wanting to perform such modifications it would be interesting to see what they've done in this respect ... and indeed .... I must also try to encourage those guys, who's modifications I do know about, to post images of their work "HERE" .... if possible .... and just for the sake of interest !

I have no problem with mods to my panels, but the night lighting won't work properly any more because this is implemented within the gauge. I wonder if these aircraft originally had the panel arranged like in the HJG 1959 panel, but were modified due to changes in regulations mandating the fitting of radar altimeters?

These guys are aware of that George .... and also understand "that" (night lighting), if applicable, is a likely consequence of such modifications too. UNDOUBTEDLY ! There are even likely some of these aircraft which have been modified so often .... and to the extent that some of their modifications have been progressively modified in accordance with what you say you're wondering. "INTERESTING" modifications Bill .... and it certainly gives these panels more of a 1980's type look about them. Some equipment there that 1960's B707 and CV880 pilots could only dream about ! Mark C
