Hello,
Well, I installed the Boeing 707 with no problems. However, after having installed the Convair 990A with a SAS livery, it doesn´t appear in the Aircraft selector? There is no "Convair" in the manufacturer folder. Also after starting with default Cessna, I cannot switch to the Convair. Where has it gone?

I think you will have to show us the contents of your aircraft.cfg file.
Also is this FSX or FS2004?
Regards,
Jim

W-h-e-r-e have a-l-l the C-O-N-V-A-I-R's gone .... l-o-n-g time p-a-s-s-i-n-g ! (etc)I forget the actual name of the song, and who wrote/sang it too, but, in my mind, I can now hear that familiar old tune so darned clearly ;D ANYWAY .... seriously now .... What you're experiencing is likely the result of a simple [FLTSIM.XX] CFG file/ADD TO AIRCRAFT editing error. Please check each of the following [FLTSIM.XX] ADD TO AIRCRAFT data/CFG entries .... 1. Check that each of your first CV990 [FLTSIM.XX] entry starts in with a "0" .... as follows .... [FLTSIM.0]And if you're installing a chain of CV990 textures then make sure that each subsequent CV990 [FLTSIM.XX] ADD TO AIRCRAFT data line then reads in subsequent numerical order .... as follows .... [FLTSIM.1] [FLTSIM.2] [FLTSIM.3] .... etc 2. Check that the TEXTURE= line of your ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data reads precisely in accordance with that of the airline texture/livery folder which you're trying to install. These are quite common end user errors. The slightest error in any of this essential data is sufficient to cause any FS texture/aircraft to either not display on the 3D model .... OR .... not display at all within the FS Aicraft Selection Menu. I'm pretty sure it's "HERE" .... somewhere .... that an inadvertent error has occured and which is preventing your CV990 from displaying within FS.Jim's suggestion of posting a copy & paste of your [FLTSIM.XX] data "HERE" (on this thread) is a very good idea .... if you can't spot any obvious error on the basis of my above advice. Hello again, Thanks for the input. And the song I found the fault. In the [fltsim.xx] for this SAS livery, sim=990 must be changed to sim=CV990A, as this is the name of the Air file. Then it works Best Regards, Anders

Hello again, I have now also downloaded and installed the Boeing 367-80. Here the plane initially turned out to be plain gray Also here I found, the the addressing in the [fltsim.xx] for texture not was correct. After correction to the right address however, I love that plane also Best Regards, Anders

The textures are always named xx, you have to change it to the next available digit. This is because HJG don't know which textures you will choose to download, and what order you will put them into the cfg file.

Jim

The fault in the Dash-80 case was, that in the [flitsim.o] chapter the texture part wrote;
texture=
it should be;
texture=Boeing_367-80_1954_n70700
I assume, that if it only is "texture=" without telling it what, will result in the grey, ghost-like liverey.
And yes, I do know that each livery has their own fltsim.0 , flitsim.1, etc, etc.

"texture=" is often used.
When there is only one texture folder and it is just called 'texture'

I'm without my FS PC at the moment, and can't download anything on this one either, in order to be able check that file .... BUT .... unlike is the case with DC8 SHIP ONE 1959, both the B367-80 Aircraft Base Pack, and the 1 only Boeing 1954 texture for it are separate files .... as I recall.
If I further correctly recall (I've not actually had anything to do with that particular file for over 4 years and since the new HJG was born) .... the texture file "IS" indeed named ....
Boeing_367-80_1954_n70700
Therefore the TEXTURE= line in the ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data should read ....
Texture=Boeing_367-80_1954_n70700
"IF" that ADD TO AIRCRAFT/CFG data doesn't read accordingly then it's likely an oversight by us/HJG which we'll need to amend later.
And "IF" this's the case too .... then what's currently there has quite obviously been a carry-over from the old HJG which didn't use the file naming conventions we've established here for these past almost 4 years.
At the new HJG our texture files generally always have a specific name .... even in the case where these are for 1 only texture Models/Aircraft Base Packs.

Thanks for the answers and help!
There are so many wonderful planes in here, that I fall into the trap of wanting to fly them all before having read the manuals thoroughly..
Best Regards, Anders

In addition to the downloadable manuals which accompany "some" of our aircraft panel files .... I have written and posted a series of extensive service notes regarding all of our panels with the exception of the BAe 146.
FYI .... these service notes are located on the ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT forum page and are entitled as follows ....
B707 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES
CONVAIR PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES
DC8 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES
The following service notes are located on the CARAVELLE SUPPORT forum page ....
CARAVELLE PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES
These notes are all constantly revised .... and updated where necessary.
