Yes, that is quite true, Captain, but it still does'nt explain the reason why jetliners cruise with a nose up attitude.

Maybe because jets think they're better than props ?! ;D

Hey, that's cute. It's always good to add some humour to discussions.

I'd like to answer your question seriously, but hey.....I only flew the things; didn't design them. It's probably got something to do with the speed, swept wing, and all that. Let's get Mark to do the research in his "spare" time !!

Ya know what ! I've been so busy behind the scenes "HERE" that I'd kind of forgotten all about it being Summertime .... I thought it was getting darned hot outside ! ;D 26 bloody degrees "PLUS" (celcius) today .... and with the almost 100% humidity (which explains why everyone's in a nutsty mood) which goes with it all to make things worse too Mark C AKL/NZ

Yes Captain, you are probably right. Speed and swept wings are all in the total equation. Doing a little research ( so as to take the pressure off Mark ;D ) I came up with this link, www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/tech_ops/read.main/20023There are some interesting responces. Personally I like answer No.12. Herman

Thanks for the link, Herman. Lots of good replies. All probably correct to one degree or another. Like I said, I just flew the dumb things, never got into the design end of it.....thankfully !! I still think that if man were meant to fly, he would've been born with wings !! ;D

Gee...thanks Mark. After several years of retirement you tend to forget what it was like to have a job and fit in all those other duties and interests. Herman

OK, thanks Captain.
If there is such a thing as an after life or re-incarnation, my wish would certainly be to come back as something with wings...preferably on a nice tropical island.
Just wanted to also mention that a lot of credit has to go to the folks who were smart enough to incorporate all those little details into the FS aircraft models.

Wait, I always heard it as - pull back on the stick and the houses get smaller, pull back really hard on the stick and the houses get bigger REALLY FAST.
