When I try to make the night panel of the Caravelle 6R brighter, the lighting doesn't change: The default section is:
Day = 255, 255, 255 Night = 30, 15, 0 Luminous = 247, 95, 64
I increase the values in Night and Luminous to 50,50,50 and 175,175,175, respectively; comment-out the default values; save the changes; and reset FS2004, there is no difference in the panel's illumination. This works fine in other aircraft. Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help.

So far as I'm aware .... you're not supposed to make it anything other than what it is .... as has been provided (as I'm sure Esa/AFG and Benoit will agree) .... so .... I regret I can't help you regarding this query That panel lighting is what it "IS" .... and which is the way it all "IS" intended to be ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
However, I'm afraid I have to disagree with it. Shortly after I first downloaded and installed the 6R, I replaced the default autopilot by commenting-out all the applicable gauge lines, and replacing them with the default Lear autopilot gauges. I placed the autopilot on top of the instrument panel, centered on the center windshield. It works fine.
There must be a way to change the panel lighting. Otherwise, why have a [control] section in the panel file?

Yes there is, just consult the SDK - it looks like a regular RGB-code. I'm sure that what Mark meant was that you will not find any support for "none HJG" stuff as such, not from the HJG staff at least, but of course some of the other members might barge in with an advice or two. From the HJG-staff, I'm sure you will understand, you will only receive support on those things originally offered by us. Otherwise we would have our hands more than full to be able to support each an every user-mod So from the official HJG-side we neither can or will try to help on user-mod issues. I hope you will find an answer to your question one way or another.

That's correct .... and precisely what I intended ! The CARAVELLE is a non-HJG product which we host by consent. I'm more than happy to support it within the conrtext of how it is first supplied to us .... as is presented here .... BUT .... if folk wish to modify things (and they can do of course .... for better or worse) then I can't really assist with any issues which they might run into. I can only endeavour to support what is suplied .... as it is currently presented Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Dan,
Thanks for you reply. I understand the predicament of trying to straighten out users who try to mess with the files -- like me!
I must admit that it was my mistake. What I missed, even after a long search of all the switches in all the overhead panels, was the one marked "Inst. Panels Lights" in Window07. Flipping the switch "on" worked wonders! I got the cozy red glow the developers knew I would. And I can also change the Night and Luminous settings in panel.cfg -- as long as that switch is on. Just more proof that I should have majored in electrical instead of aeronautical engineering!
(By the way, the smaller text on this overhead panel is not very crisp.)
Thanks again. And thanks for the great aircraft on your site.

It sure does help ! ;D Of course I didn't anticipate that you hadn't actually done that .... and assuming you had done it .... I was wondering why anyone would want too change ithe nice, and quite authentic, red night light effect that's provided ! YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEP .... that's precisely what you should see on each of the CARAVELLE panels. I'm glad you got it sorted .... and obviously don't then need to change anything there ! ;D Enjoy the CARAVELLE's ! Mark C AKL/NZ
