Another suggestion.....In FSX "Settings" Graphics make sure the DX10 prevue box is unchecked as this will also prevent your aircraft from showing.

grayrider,
If you do not get it going, let me know and I will help you trouble shoot it. I run FSX in VISTA with FS9 and FSX on a seperate drive.
I don't have any trouble with FSX.

Again .... apart from making "SUGGESTIONS" .... I'd rather leave this issue for the FSX gurus to try'n resolve .... HOWEVER .... I did notice in 1 of your above screenshots that your FSFSCONV folder appears in capital font .... whereas the ALIAS= data line in you PANEL.CFG displays this folder name in lower case font (i.e "fsfsconv"). What happens if you then edit that data line to show just the FSFSCONV (only) portion of that reference in capital font .... as per the actual folder name (i.e "FSFSCONV"). The rest of that data line can then stay in lower case font .... as-is .... as that's still consistent with the panel folder name. This suggestion might not make a shread of difference though I know it doesn't in my FS2004 installation .... but .... maybe .... FSX is a little more sensitive in this respect .... and it certainly won't hurt to try .... I guess ! Beyond this final suggestion, from me, I'm out of my depth here .... and, again, need to leave you with the FSX gurus ! Mark C BOG/CO Nice try Mark, but no, that doesn't mean a thing :-)

Hello GrayRider; This issue seems to come up very frequently. It somehow seems to depend how your file extensions are set up. On my system ( Vista ) I have to rename the aircraft.cfg to aircraft, only, not aircraft.cfg. The same applies to the panel cfg. ...panel only not panel.cfg The same applies to the sound cfg. There is only one air file. I think what Mark meant is to make sure you use the FSX aircraft , panel and sound cfg files. Also make sure the DX10 prevue in FSX is unchecked. Give that a try and let us know how you make out. Cheers; Herman From GR's screenshots, it is evident, that he has "Extensions hidden for known filetypes" But that is not the issue here, I'm sure. The real problem is that GR isn't aware of the very basic settings in installing an aircraft into FS, and had been used to just copy and paste into a folder ... no offence GR, just saying thing as I see them mostly makes things easier to understand. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I'd like you to do a little by yourself first perhaps in order for you to get a better grip on it.

You might also get a better knowledge of the process if you look at that topic just above this, where I helped slowpilot through, step by step.... We made it sticky, as it was a walk-through that almost covered all the various aspects of a user that was more or less completely new to this "FS-stuff" .... Slowpilot did actually get airborne at the end

Thanks Dan.
I really liked the way you did the one you sent me.Speaking of the one you sent.I did add the J and the H models and there paints to the one you sent me.That worked out ok.
Based on the way you sent the EC-135 to me.I will try to do it the same way with the RC-135 V/W and S models etc.
That plane I reall want, because I spent 7 years with those models when I was in the AirForce etc.

No No.
I was just saying I completed the EC-135,by adding back into yours the J & H model folders and texture folders, for them to show up etc.
I'm going to try to do one RC-135 with one model/panel/sound and texture folder.
I have to build one from scratch, the same as the one you sent me etc.
Heck it's 0300 in the morning here.So I don't think I can stay awake long enough to try it now.
