Military DC9's are quite rare .... SO .... it's with great pleasure that I present this FUERZA AEREA VENEZOLANA DC9-15 by my colleagure Alejandro HURTADO .... and I think this's also HJG's very first military liveried DC9 too ! This particular aircraft (FAV 003 .... previously registered YV-03) was formerly YV-03C of LAV and leased by the FAV between 1977 and 1985. Muchismas gracias Alejandro .... somos muy agradecidos ! Just added another 2 classic Venezuelan DC9 subjects to the above ensemble .... both relating to AEROPOSTAL DC9-15 YV-03C The first of these images represents a rare version of AEROPOSTAL livery from the early 1980's .... whilst the second image represents the airlines definitive identity of the early 1990's. Both of these textures are by Alejandro HURTADO. Muchismas gracias Alejandro Mark C AKL/NZ

Alejandro has just completed another 2 great looking liveries from Venezuela. These represent the 1972 identity for AVENSA (a real classic) .... for DC9-14 YV-C-AVM .... and .... the 1992 livery for AIR MARGARITA DC9-14 YV-830-C .... with images of both have been added to the above montage. Mil gracias Alejandro ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Another great Venezuelan classic has just been added to the above ensemble .... this time representing VIASA (Venezolana Internacional de Aviacion Sociedad Anonima) DC9-14 YV-C-AVR, which was leased from AVENSA during 1971, and operated in this "rare"/hybrid variation of livery featuring a white lower fuselage Mil gracias Alejandro ! Another very rare subject based on a photo I located .... VIASA VENEZUELA also leased DC9-14 YV-C-AVM from AVENSA during 1970's .... this is the earliest date we can so far determine for this lease because AVENSA later wrote this same particular aircraft off during 1974. Unlike YV-C-AVR (which VIASA leased from AVENSA during 1971) YV-C-AVM also supported the late 1960's variation of VIASA livery for the duration of its lease but featured a natural metal lower fuselage .... and the titles "RENTED TO" which appeared in English. This particular variation of VIASA livery for the HJG DC9-10 SERIES has just been added to the above previews .... gracias a nuestro companero Alejandro HURTADO ! Mark C AKL/NZ

The DC9-20 is basically a DC9-10 fuselage with the larger slatted wing of the DC9-30, higher weights, and greater power too. Less than a dozen of this rare DC9 model were ever produced by McDonnell-Douglas and virtually of these were delivered to SAS .... though EASTERN AIR LINES also took delivery of at least 1 example of this rare version of the DC9 too. Beyond their SAS service some DC9-20's lived on to serve with other airlines around the world .... like AEROPOSTAL DC9-21 YV-C13 which was operated in Venezuela until at least 2004 .... and which represents Alejandro HURTADO's latest texture .... which I've also just added to the above montage of classic/historic Venezuelan DC9 subjects. Muchismas gracias Alejandro ! Mark C AKL/NZ
