Just one detail I couldn´t help hoticing .... is that you may have that particular EASTERN livery on the wrong B747 model. I note the engines on that model seem to be GE CF6-50 or very late version P&W´s .... whereas "N371EA" was actually an early P&W JT9D-7 (quite a different engine type/shape) powered B747-238B owned by QANTAS (VH-EBD). This aircraft was prepared, by QANTAS, for a sale to EASTERN during 1980, but, which eventually never went ahead. You can read all about this "HERE" .... as well as viewing pictures of this particular aircraft in both QANTAS, EASTERN, and other later post sale operator liveries ....www.aussieairliners.org/b-747/vh-ebd/vhebd.htmlYou should be able to find the correct early JT9D engined B747-200 model for this particular texture over at the PROJECT FREE SKY WEBSITE .... www.freeskyproject.com/.... unless theye got this texture assigfned the wrong model too as a complete texture/model download. FYI .... most .... if not all of the B747´s operated by EASTERB, for a time, during the early 1970´s were P&W JT9D powered early series 100 aircraft. EAL may have leased some B747-200´s later on too, but, I´m not sure. There are a couple of EAL textures over at FS.COM .... for the PFS (ex POSKY) "B747-100" model/s. Search for the following texture files at FS.COM .... eastr741
o741eastAlternatively .... just search "EASTERN B747". Mark C BOG/COL

Shalom and greetings all my pals, Dan, Sorry it is not Manchester. Tony, You are right it is EGPH and UK2000 Edinburgh Ultimate X is MY FAVORITE airport scenery!! Taco, Thank you for your kind words. Please continue enjoying my future screenshots!! Mark, you are right about every word you said in this post. This is just FICTIONAL Eastern airline livery for 747-200:) I like GE CF6-50 for 747-200s but I am unable to find SUPER GLEAMING AND SUPER SHINY engine covers for that engines. Eastern never had 747-200s. Just 747-100s. Thanks for the link to fantastic explanations!!! Wow it is rare view of Eastern 742!!!! Aharon

Nice shot, Aharon. I noticed the tail stand on the 747. I understand the use of these in the real world. I'm wondering, will a 747 (or any aircraft) tip onto its tail in FS if improperly loaded? Anyone know?? Never tried it

Jonm,
Thanks for kind words!! The tail stand for 742 is intended for cargo version of 742s. How it got into my plane, I have no idea but hey it looked nice!!
And if in FSX or FS2004 (NOT NOT real world), if you load improperly by having more load in back of plane, any plane does tip regardless of the tail stand.

If your basic 3D model version was a freighter confifgurted aircraft .... then that tail stand "could" be part of the standard kit associsted with that particular aircraft model Mark C BOG/COL

Mark, I do not think so. I am sure the base model is strictly passenger. I think it is from panel:) I did not want to use panel made in 2007. So I aliased to POSKY's new 747 panel made in 2010 so that I could get cool looking push back tug tractor and cool looking luggage load trays:) And it looks DARN nice:) My disappointment is lack of super shine on jet engine covers. Look at pics of 747-200 you enclosed. The engine covers are super shiny!!! Also, look at your pics showing super shiny bottom of the plane as seen below www.aussieairliners.org/b-747/vh-ebd/4630.355.htmlAharon

YES .... most unpainted natural metal engines on very well maintained airliners do tend to appear highly polished .... but .... in my 31 years of very close association with civil aviation I´ve also seen a lot of "very dirty" ones too I remember during the late 1970´s PAN AM .... in particular .... used to turn up at AKL with some "REAL SHOCKERS" ;D And whilst on the subject of PAN AM too .... and I stand to be corrected here (in what I´m about to say) .... BUT .... I think at least 1, or more, of the very early EASTERN operated B747-100´s (I´m talking very early 1970´s here and around the time when the B747 first entered commercial service) carried "PA" suffixed registrations and a PAN AM type fuselage cheatline .... suggesting these particular aircraft were possibly leased from PAN AM at the time. I´m sure I´ve seen a photo/postcard to this effect .... but unfortunatately .... don´t have that particular reference with me in order to to be able to illustrate the point. If I can dig up any other information to support this then I will post it here later. Mark C BOG/CO

FYI .... in case anyone is unaware ....
"SCD" .... is basiclly Boeing´s designation for a cenvertible/"COMBI" (dual PAX/Cargo, or pure PAX, or pure Cargo) confifgured B747 .... primarily a few B707-320B´s and B747-200´s to start with.
I think all dual/"COMBI" type B747-200 operation was suspended/banned (for inadequate cabin ventilation .... or something .... in the case of a rear cabin/maindeck cargo compartment fire) after the SOUTH AFRICAN AIRLINES disaster of a number of years back.
