Are you using the 76 meter mesh terrain for the entire Republic Of Colombia Dave ?
Several files available at FS.COM.
FS2002/FS2004 compatible only though .... I believe !

EXACTAMEMENTE / EXACTLY ! Garry tienes todo razon / Garry is quite right ! You'll find heaps of classic Colombian stuff here .... like AEROCONDOR B707/720, AEROTAL B707/720, AVIANCA B707/720 and B727, ARCA DC8, LAC B707/DC8, SAM B707/720, AEROREPUBLICA B727, LAS CARAVELLE and DC9, and TAMPA COLOMBIA B707 and DC8 .... to name but a few .... and we're still not done there yet because more are on the way too. There's even a number of Colombian DC6 textures over at FS.COM .... for Tom GIBSON's models, but, you've really got to know your Colombian operators in order to be able to search for and locate these with success. One sure way to do it is to type "COLOMBIA" in the FS.COM search box .... and select SEARCH ALL FILES .... I'll post the scenery mesh terrain file names for you, and anyone else that may be interested too, a little later on, and per a separate posting here. Mark C AKL/NZ

OK .... for those interested .... here's the FLIGHTSIM.COM file names for the 76.4 meter SRTM mesh terain for the entire Republic Of Colombia .... PLEASE NOTE thee are 5 separate/individual files and each one "IS" required in order to complete the scenery .... col_1.zip
col_2.zip
col_3.zip
col_4.zip
col_5.zip These files are both FS200-2 and FS2004 compatible .... but .... not for FSX. Dave .... here's a few flight recommendations within this scenery .... - Fly from Villavicencio to Bogota .... crossing over/through Cordillera Oriente/Eastern Cordillera/Andes.
- Fly from Bogota to Pereira .... crossing over/through the Cordillera Occidente?Western Cordillera/Andes.
- Fly Bogota to Cali, or, Pereira to Cali .... those mountains to the north-east of Cali were the scene of the AA B757 crash during the 1990's.
- Fly Cali to Pasto.
- Fly around Santa Marta .... actually the highest point of Colombia in the north-eastern corner of the country.
- Fly into and around Medellin .... from anywhere. With the above recomended scenery mesh terain correctly installed (the deafult MSFS supplied scenery simply does not do justice to Colombia at asll) one gets a very good impression of some of the beautiful geography which makes up the Republic Of Colombia (I've been fortunate enough to live in this beautiful country for part of each year over the past 10 years now and can personall vouch for this and all of the improvements/reforms successfully implimented since 2002/3) .... featuring rolling hills and mountains, deep valleys and ravines, along with the low lands too. Some of Colombia's airports can be quite challenging .... in that they are located at very high altitudes and with steeply rising terrain close to there proximities. I don't want to appear to be ramming this down everyones neck all the time .... BUT .... "just to stimulate FS interest" .... here's a 30 minute documentary about DC3 operations in Colombia .... "RISKING IT ALL - THE DAREDEVIL PILOTS OF COLOMBIA"english.aljazeera.net/programmes/....2305049621.html.... and .... here's my own foto and video supported report on a trip that Camilo and I did to Villavicencio durig 2009 .... the home of the last few remaining Colombian DC3 operations .... Ok thanks Mark for all the info, Actually read your report which was very detailed and rivetting and watched various Col DC3 bush strip flts. on You Tube a couple weeks ago and that spurred me on to look further into the dc 3 thing on the back country airstrips. I used to handle a lot of DC3 but Mostly C46 cargo flts from Col and Venez like Ransa and aeropostal back at MKJP but never realy thought about it much. So thats why I was looking for some Col GA aircraft as the big boys wouldnt work in that situ. Does the Mesh Terrain give more of a local vegetation than the default? Thats what Im looking for and more accurate rivers and mountains. Wish somehow could work up some simulated crew members guess that might happen later. Just to show some activity. regards , OK rereread above and you do mention T mesh and what it does. see how she goes., The more real the better. Dave

"NO" .... it doesn't Tree type and quantity is determined by FS itself HOWEVER .... here's another file I use .... treegen.zip .... a file by Feng ZHU which also available at FIGHTSIM.COM. The default FS9 trees are way over size/scale. The above file reduces the size of the default trees, but, also increases their density too .... so you get more vegetation for you money. I use this file and it's fine .... There's also another texture file I use named "REAL FORREST" .... but .... I can't rember where I got it from .... AVSIM.COM (only) I think. It does nothing for tree quantity/density/type, but, it does creat a nice matt of forrest texturing which looks quite nice from around 3000FT .... or so. I find it ideal for both Colombia, and New Zealand, which is why I use it ! Mark C AKL/NZ

"YES" .... I forgot about Garry's great looking AEROPESCA COLOMBIA liveries for the VISCOUNT 700.
You can get the textures from FS.COM ....
And .... the aircraft pbase packs from RIck PIPERS website .... goinmg through the CLASSIC BRITISH FLIGHTSIM website I believe.
And .... Fraser McKAY has produced at least 3 superb panels for these aircraft too .... different versions for different VISCOUNT type aircraft.

You wouldn't be able to post ("HERE") some of your original images of these Colombian V700's and V800's .... could you Garry ? Tony MADGE also painted Rick PIPER's HP HERALD in LINEAS AEREAS DE URACCA COLOMBIA livery .... so .... there's another one too ! There's certainly no shortage of classic aircraft with which to fly over the beautiful geography of Colombia (provided the recomended mesh terrain is first installed ) in FS Mark C AKL/NZ
