Is the stairs animation available only on the Convair aircraft? Also, how are they initiated - it's a while since I flew any of them.

Only the CV880 pax models. I think it's the water rudder keyboard entry to initiate it. But, there is a list of special features in the original Readme file. Best to verify it from that list.

Thanks for the reply Dee! Only thing is I cannot find the readme files which is why I ended up on the forum in the first place. When you download the base pack all you get is the EULA and installation instructions.

All of the CV880 files were repackaged (not by me incidentally) during March/April 2006 prior to the new/current HJG going "ONLINE". The original CV880 information documents appear not to have been carried forward at this time .... and of course there's been a number of subsequent upgrades since that time during the course of which certain details have long been forgotten about. Looking at an old (the original) HJG document which I've been able to locate, there are a couple of items that may be of interest and which have not been previously acknowledged by the new HJG. These include both outboard landing lights and airstairs animations The information I've located states as follows .... PLEASE NOTE: The alternative procedure (as stated in 1-6 above) may be preferable since the current CV880 overhead panel is not the same version used when these panels were first released around 2004 .... at the time the document was also first written. So far as I'm aware .... none of the above animations (with exception of possibly just the outboard landing lights animation) have been affected by any upgrading we/the new HJG have applied since April 2006. However .... if none of this advice works .... "then I'm buggered if I know" See how you go .... and then let us all know ! Mark C AKL/NZ

Thanks Mark!
Where have all the manuals gone by the way? I remember when I first started downloading HJG aircraft a few years ago they were readily available and very useful.

OK .... I hope that helps you and others out ! The original CONVAIR manuals (a document more than a manual really) seems to have not been included in what was repackaged during March/April 2006 .... again I wasn't associated with the repackaghing of these filers at that time. Fortunately .... I still have a copy of this original document, but, I can assure you that apart from the landing lights and airstairs infomation .... as quoted above .... along with some operational speed REF numbers too .... nobody's really missing anything (apart from the landing lights and airstairs data) through this document not being carried forward. The fact it wasn't carried forward during 2006 was the prime motivation behind my writing a new and greatly expanded/more thorough CV880/990 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES document which is located (at the moment) on the ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT forum page. This new document is our online/forum manual for both CV880 & CV990 TYPE aircraft. Most of everything that must be known in order to be able to enjoy these aircraft properly is included within this forum document .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hjgaircraftlistings&action=display&thread=1699I'll add the landing lights and airstairs dataq to this information later (one day) .... when I get time to do so ! FYI .... I've also written similar documents for each of our other aircraft (with the exception of the BAe 146 which has a very thorough downloadable manual) too. These documents .... "XYZ (aircraft type name) PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" .... appear on either the ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT forum page, or their respective aircraft type SUPPORT forum pages. These documents are constantly updated. Some are still subject to further editing and are therefore in transition to their respective aircraft type forum pages at this time .... which I'll attend to, in the future, as time permits.
