:)I was wondering if it would be possible to get a cleaner wing texture for the L-1011's, that 90's TWA livery is beautiful but the wings detract from it. Yes, I know allot of the wings on L-1011's are filthy with leaking hydraulics and so forth but it sure would be nice to have a few of those gorgeous liveries with clean wings. I just got a lot of 707's they are awesome.

As you imply .... what's provided is, indeed, very authentic and the preference of the various texcture authors concerned .... namely Jim CAMPISI in this case .... whom also kindly authorized other HJG texture artists (like Tony MADGE) to use his wing textures if they desired.
We/HJG don't normally provide alternative texture enhancements .... in the form of, say, clean or weathered wing textures only.
The best I can suggest is ....
Go through our inventory and locate a texture which comprises of wing surfaces whichcleaner than those currently represented within your TWA L1011 texture.
I suggest you focus on/select just those L1011 texture files by Peter LIDELL, Camilo LUENGAS, or Eduardo ROCHA in order to do this .... as these guys each do their own wing textures .... which will/should be different from those of the all our other L1011 texture/livery subjects.
You'll need to focus on/select just the WINGS_T texture BMP (only) .... and overwrite this particular BMP file into your TWA texture file of choice .... and then just see what you get !

You should do if you select any of the LIDDELL, LUENGAS, or ROCHA L1011 texture files .... as both the MADGE, CAMPISI, and any other L1011 texture files all use the same weathered wing textures !

Wow It looks great. Are the wings the the same across all the models ie. 1,150,100,200 etc. The l1011 I have was downloaded eons ago. The model (-100) was done by Eric Cantu but it wasnt downloaded from this sight.i dont really know what fde version it has an soforth. Should I update the the whole thing off of your sight? I might get some additional models also.
But in answer to your question, what you did to the wing textures looks great.
Thank You,
Gary

The texture I was referring to was the following:
1985 - N31031- L1011-100
But I would not mind having that one also. i think that is a -1 so I would have to get the package from your download section. Thanks again, Gary

Thanks for doing that Jim "YES" .... I believe they are .... meaning you will/should be able to use the same wing texture BMP with any of the L1011 versions we currently repesent here. If you downloaded what you currently got from the VL website .... or anywhere else .... then I do "most strongly recommend" that you replace "EVERYTHING" you've got with the files we currently offer "HERE". The model version we use is still Erick's BETA release, but, I did detect, prior to our uploading it, that the model version we host is a later/more recent file date than the one previously available from the VL hosted package. Our FDE (both AIRCRAFT.CFG and AIR.FILE data) was extensively worked on by us .... and is far superior to the original data. I additionmally recommend you also use the L1011 panels and RR RB211 soundpack we offer here too .... because these files have each been compiled in accordance with our own FDE. In short .... replace "EVERYTHING" you have with what we currently offer"IF" you're going to the extreme of updating everything with what we offer ("RECOMMENDED") then I also recommend you take time to read my online/forum manual for the L1011 .... which is posted on the LOCKHEED AIRCRAFT SUPPORT forum page .... L1011 TRISTAR PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTEStonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=supportpage&action=display&thread=3888You will find other L1011 related "Service Notes" on this same forum page too. Let me do some more tweaks...but basically I got rid of the heavy streaking and shined up the center section....it will need some detail work. You can just replace the wings if you like....in order to clean up/color match the tailplanes , those are on the bitmap which has the rear fuselage so it isnt hard but requires a little extra work.
Give me a few days...really busy this week, but I promise to get to it ASAP.

Thank You very much. I am in no hurry. I enjoy flying them. If you don't have time to do the empennage. I understand I realize they are part of the livery bitmap and that means changing everyone of them. Lot of work. If you do not want to or don't have time don't worry about it. Just let me know so i wont expect them. Thanks again, Gary
