"THANKS" Dan .... and welcome, everyone, to this latest HJG website update !

First and foremost .... within the HJG website update we are launching an new aircraft panel in the form of a "CV990-A INS Panel".

We are grateful to George CARTY for this new offering .... "THANKS" George .

This latest addition to our CONVAIR product range is also thanks to HJG forum member "WALTERLEO" whom recently posted a video .... which became our first piece of definitive evidence confirming that at least "some" (not all) CV990 aircraft were indeed equipped with INS. This new CV990 panel version is known as follows ....

CV990-A INS Panel

It is located in the "CONVAIR PANELS" section of of Downloads page.

PLEASE NOTE .... in order for this new panel to be to work, at all, the new CONVAIR PANEL GAUGES/CORE FILES" package (included within this latest HJG website update) must first be installed .... this new INS equipped CV990 panel cannot/will not work without it

Even if one does not intend to install this new "CV990-A INS" panel we still recommended the original CONVAIR PANELS GAUGES/CORE FILES package (comprising of all panel sounds and gauges components) be replaced with this newest version.

The INS featured in these panels is precisely the same as that built into each of our previously released INS equipped B707, B727, DC8, and L1011 panels .... and therefore functions in precisely the same manner.. Those not, yet, familiar with INS navigation and these HJG panel versions .... but .... whom wish to learn .... should refer the following HJG INS panel tutorial ....

The above tutorial will teach the basics and is essentially intended to get people interested/started.

We appreciate the INS system represented in this new panel version is not the same type of equipment as featured within the recently posted subject aircraft video, but, it most certainly is not any more out of place than that fitted into our current INS equipped B707 and DC8 panel versions .... and which are similarly/simply "representative". The type of INS systems fitted into most early generation jetliners varied considerably anyway .... according to both period technology as well as operator preferences..At least those whom wish to ..... will now be able to fly/navigate their CV990-A aircraft according to established HJG INS protocol
