Nice find!
I saw this bird at IAH in early June of '87, as my CO flight arrived from DFW. I remember digging for my camera but by the time I had it out, we were around the corner and I lost the opportunity. I wonder how long CO operated this service?
Emerald certainly rings a bell, too. For some reason, I want to say that BN version III snapped up their operating cert. so they could again operate? And is THAT where the sole BN DC9-14 came from?
My memory is trying to tell me for some reason that Emerald had a small route system through the Rio Grand Valley?

Okay I will bite!! Can anybody explain to me why there was daily DC-9 shuttle service between two Houston airports when a cab or crosstown airport bus could do the job?

Aharon,Had to do with feeding domestic flights at Hobby with International flights at IAH. Making the transfer a convenience for Continental's customer. Fuel was cheap back then and there were all kinds of airlines with super short flights......those were the days! regards, TheGetter!

>...3 aircraft went to Braniff N38641,N931EA ,N932EA Three baby nines went to BN? And here I thought I was "Mister Knows-It" when it came to BN. Lol! ...so now I am wondering, pray tell, what colors N38641 and N930EA might have worn in Braniff version III...we already know about N931EA! She's here at HGJ... And you do learn something new every day! I noticed a notorious DC9 listed with Emerald...none other than "Ship One." James

James,That's what I love about this hobby, you find out about things that you never realized! Seems N931EA was in the fleet from 1991 to 1992,the other 2 only during the year of 1991. aerobernie.ae.funpic.de/Braniff.htmlregards, TheGetter!

Thegetter,
Thanks for explanation. It is very strange and most bizarre just like regular Eastern flights between CYYZ and KBUF using L-1011s where those planes could be seen flying with landing gear deployed between two neighboring cities!!

Aharon,In the late 70's I would fly on National Airlines 727's from Jax to Miami sometimes making 2 to 3 quick stops along the way. Jax,Daytona,West Palm Bch,Miami If I remember correctly jet fuel was something like 13 cents a gallon. From Daytona to West Palm they would serve you a large roast beef sandwich, chips, cookies and a drink........Gosh I miss those days! regards, TheGetter!
