Hi I downloaded the MD90-30 and tried to install the MD 80 analogue (late) panel ,nothing just a view of the runway every thing else about the aircraft was fine. I then downloaded and installed the MD80/b717 panel into the MD90-30 all OK and worked fine. As an experiment i tried to load the MD80 analogue early, late & the semi EFIS into the MD 81-82-83 none of these panels would show up ,i then loaded the MD80/b717 into the MD81,82&83 with total success. I come from the Analogue Age and would like to be able to install the analogue panels . As the installation process is the same for all panels I am puzzled why the analogue panels will not load ,any idears RW

Since all the other panels are working fine, my first thought is a corrupted download on the analog panel you want to use.
Try deleting all the parts of the panel, including the zip and extracted folders. and then try a fresh download. I've had instances where a few bits and bytes get out of whack on the download and then the file doesn't work.

OK I just tried it myself.... and since I didn't have the MD90 already installed, this is a good test. I downloaded the MD90base pack, NOT the ER or IGW. Then I grabbed the British air texture just to have something to work with. Finally, I downloaded the MD80 analog early panel (the first one in the download list) Unzipped, installed as per Mark's instructions, and it worked fine. My procedure, just to make sure I don't screw up is to do all the unzipping to a folder outside FS; in this case I created a folder just called MD90. I first installed the base pack in FS, next the texture and the mod of the cfg for the texture, then finally installed the panel folder as instructed INSIDE the MD90 folder; again modified the cfg to recognize the panel as instructed, and VOILA! it's there. So I guess the files are OK and I am not sure what is happening now in your case. Mike

As instructed per my MD80/90 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES postings .... your MD80/90 aircraft panel assignments should be as follows .... I further stress that the following B717-200/MD80 EFIS panel is "the best/most appropriate" panel version for use with HJG MD87, MD88, and MD90 aircraft .... "IF YOU WANT AN AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE" .... FILE NAME = md80_b717_panel_southeyI presume you are installing these panels in FS2004 .... because they "ARE NOT" FSX compatible. This sort situation is usually indicative of either an AIRCRAFT.CFG PANEL= .... or .... PANEL.CFG ALIAS= error .... meaning the panel has not been set up according to the recommended installation procedure. "IF" any CFG or other installation error occurs .... then it will result in precisely what you say you are seeing .... "no panel and just a RWY/environment view in place of a panel view". Your panel (and I stress using the B717-200 EFIS version for our MD90 aircraft) should be set up/installed precisely as follows .... Provided the above is done correctly .... then there is no logical reason why this panel should not appear with your HJG MD90 simulation. FYI .... I have also checked each of our other MD80 panel options with the HJG MD90 aircraft (namely the SPADA semi EFIS and both GOLDING RED and WHITE panel versions) .... and despite these not being the recommended panels for use with HJG MD90 aircraft they do each display fine .... provided the recommended installation procedures are all adhered to ....MD80 - GOLDING WHITE PANELMD80 - GOLDING RED PANELMD80 - SPADA PANELI'm certain .... it is in relation to the installation procedures for these panels that you are going wrong .... possibly in regard to destination folders for the "contents" of the MODULES and/or FS2004 folders which are both different in the case of each of the GOLDING WHITE, GOLDING RED, and SPADA panel versions only .... as follows .... Address these installation procedures correctly .... and you will/should be fine. I confirm there are no problems with any of these panel file options with any of the HJG MD80/90 aircraft simulations. Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Mark I cleaned every thing out and reloaded all the MD models and the recommended panels , big smile all the panels loaded except the ASI is missing in the MD 81,82, & 83 all the others are 100% When I open FS9 I get the following Flight Sim. has detected potentially incompatible aircraft or soft ware file FSSound.dll Do you want to load this soft ware yes/no click yes and the get the same but with file GaugeSound file I clicked yes to both and FS9 opened OK but with the missing ASI I shut down FS9 and booted up again this time i clicked on "no"
FS9 opened but with a new message
Flight Sim was unable to load some Aircraft or software . You can continue using flight Sim but this A/c or software will be disabled File: Aircraft\HJG McDonnell Douglas MD-87_v1\panel.MD _Golding_White\ MD87.ATC-WHM.Gau
followed by the same but with XM\sound.Gau
I assume some where in the above is why the ASI is Missing in the MD81,82 & 83 I don't have a clue HELP! RW

This business of a missing ASI is an issue that's known to affect the 2 GOLDIG MD80 panel versions on "some" PC's/FS2004 installations (only), but, not everyones generally. Why this should be the case .... I'm "BUGGERED IF I KNOW" .... but .... it is the case and is also "VERY EASY" to fix .... as follows .... Please review the following posting/link on this missing ASI issue .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=md8090boardinfo&action=display&thread=5092Pay particular attention to the posting by Mike MONCE .... and follow his instructions "PREISELY". Effectively all you need to do is delete the original ASI gauge as is currently supplied with both the "GOLDING WHITE" and "GOLDING RED" MD80 panel versions .... then replace these with the ASI gauge from the "SPADA" MD80 panel .... editing the ASI gauge entry in both GOLDING panel version PANEL.CFG files in the process .... as Mike advises .... and everything will then work/appear fine. See how you go ! This is actually covered within both the installation instructions for both GOLDING MD80 panel versions as well as the SPADA MD80 panel version too .... and also within my MD80/90 PANEL INSTALLATION HANDLING & NOTES posting on this forum page as well. The reason why you are seeing this "Potentially Incompatible Software" warning in regard to the FSSOUND.DLL is because you have failed to apply .... or .... have incorrectly applied .... the following edit to your FS9.CFG file .... [OLDMODULES] FSSound.dll=1You need to locate your FS9.CFG .... which, in WINDOWS XP PRO, should be visible per ther following directory chain .... C:\Documents and Settings\oem\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9PLEASE NOTE .... you may need to activate the "SHOW ALL FILES" option within your WINDOWS options before you can actually see the FS9.CFG I recommend you "copy" the complete OLD MODULES FSSOUND.DLL text (to avoid potential for any typos) .... precisely as it appears above .... and then "paste" it to the very bottom of your FS9.CFG .... and then "save" this edit. This action will take care of this FSSOUND.DLL warning .... otherwise you can simply select "YES" in response to the FSSOUND.DLL warning message (better to edit as I've recommended though .... never select "NO" or you will get a multiplice of individual panel/gauge related warnings) and everything will load and work perfectly fine. Incidentally .... this warning has nothing whatsoever to do with the missing ASI .... the remedy for which I have already discussed above. I don't know why you're getting a GAUGESOUND.DLL warning .... because this particular file is not among any of those associated with the MD80 panel components. Where have you installed the GAUGESOUND.DLL file ? I suspect you may have inadvertently installed it inside your FS9 MODULES folder .... as the result of another unrelated panel installation. "IF THIS BE THE CASE" .... then all you need to do is move the GAUGESOUND.DLL file from the FS9 MODULES folder to the "FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9" folder .... which is where this particular file must be installed. The FSSOUND.DLL file stays inside the FS9 MODULES folder though .... it is a completely different component from the GAUGESOUND.DLL file. Do all of this correctly and you will not/should not experience any further hassels. Mark C AKL/NZ
