I presume you're installing these files into FS2004 .... because they "are not" FSX compatible. I just need to establish this fact first and foremost
The TCAS gauge is contained inside the Panel folder .... and should "remain there" along with all of the other supplied panel gauges. Best to not separate these at all.
Check that you have the contents (only) of the PANEL MODULES folder .... the following 2 gauge files ....
FSSOUND.DLL
TRAFFICINFO.DLL.... both installed inside the FS9
"MODULES" folder ..., and if you haven't already done so you'll also then need to locate the FS9.CFG file and add the following edit also ....
[OLDMODULES]
FSSound.dll=1.... and then save this edit !!!!
Check also that you have the contents (only) of the panel files FS2004 folder .... the following 2 gauge files ....
TCAS2V7
TCAS2V7.DLL.... both installed inside the
"FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9" folder.
"IF" each of the above panel installation steps have been performed correctly .... and strictly in accordance with this advice along with each of the other recommended panel installation steps too .... as outlined within the Panel Installation instructions .... then one will not/should not ever experienmce any difficulties.
The missing ASI gauge is a frustrating as well as "known issue" though in respect of just these 2 GOLDING MD80 panel versions only .... because it seems to occur on
"some PC's/FS installations only, but, not to everyones generally". We still don't know what is the common denominator among those systems/installations upon which this issue seems to occur .... BUT .... the solution is "very simple" and as follows ....
- Download the
"SPADA MD80" semi-EFIS MD80 panel version.
- Identify the gauge named
ca727asi .... and copy this particular gauge file over to each of the 2 GOLDING analogue MD80 panel versions.
- Then open the PANEL.CFG file for each of these 2 GOLDING panels and locate the following gauge reference ....
gauge17=airspeed, 71,478,130,130 ;HGHB/PG
.... then edit/change this entry to read precisely as follows ....
gauge17=ca727asi, 71,478,130,130.... and then save this edit !!!!
- Delete the original "airspeed.gau" file .... if you wish.
This action will/should resolve the problem for anyone experiencing this particular unusual issue.
The recommended SPADA based panel ASI replacement is slightly different from the original GOLDING panel ASI version, but, it works every bit as well/reliably.
I have actually covered this particular detail within my
"MD80/90 PANEL INSTAKLLATION & HANDLING NOTES" posting on our McDONNELL-DOUGLAS AIRCRAFT SUPPORT page .... see the following panel descriptions section of these notes ....
MD80/90 PANELS INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES # 2
UPDATED: May 7th 2012It is recommended that anyone not already familiar with these notes (our online/forum based MD80/90 manual) should make time to so. This extensive information goes well beyond explaining panel installation only .... to cover almost everything that is essential to be known/understood in order for one to be able to enjoy HJG MD80/90 simulations to the maximum.
