Hi Guys,
Bit of a funny one for you....
Ive got the BAE 146-300 which I must say is one heck of a machine! Anyhow, When i'm flying through fog below FL100 (landing lights on) and I select 'spot' view, all of the landing lights have the 'cone' effect as usual however, the landing light attached to the nose landing gear is obviously still activated because I also get a 'cone' of light coming from the nose gear position, straight up vertical popping out of the top of the cockpit!!
This is somewhat frustrating as I cant figure out a way to stop it!!
Any ideas?!

I've never heard of this previously.
I don't know what causing it.
I presume you are using this particular aircraft in FS2004 .... because it's not FSX compatible.
I don't know if the said landing light axis may be moved/rotated from the panel or other keyboard commands.
The BAe146/RJ100 series are the only HJG supplied aircraft which I'm not entirely concversent with .... unfortunately !

Lower the nose-wheel ... ;-) No seriously ... I've never flown the BAe myself, but isn't there a switch (or a key-command) to switch off the nosewheel light alone? I would think the nosewheel light was actually a taxi-light, and not a landing light. but I may be wrong. Or there could of couse be a bug that allowed the nosewheel landing light to be on even though the NW isn't down .... if it is coded into the model it will be pretty hard to change, but if it is programmed into the panel gauges and in XML it would be a bit easier to locate ...

Btw. you must read section 3.7 in the panel manual for correct use of the lights of course especially regarding switches 126 and 127 ... I just skimmed the XML code regarding the lights, and nothing seems to be wrong there at first impression...

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your replies and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
Dan's comment on the light actually being a taxi light got me thinking so I went and had a play on an empty airfield with 0. vis and I have found the issue:
With the Matthias BAE Panel Project panel installed, when you are at the hold receiving take off clearance, I was switching straight from taxi lights to landing lights which actually keeps the taxi light switched on. What you need to do is switch off the taxi light, wait 1-1.5 seconds for it to extinguish, then switch on the landing lights. This solves the problem as the 'cone' i was seeing vertically through the top of the cockpit was actually the light from the nose wheel taxi light pointing upwards when the gear is retracted.
Thank you once again for your responses.
Rich.
