I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce .... to those whom may be interested .... the following new RR CONWAY 550 fanjet engine soundpacks for the VICKERS VC10.
These soundpacks are based on both archival and recently recorded new audio material by my FS audio colleague and friend Benoit PLAMONDON .... and are intended for use with David MALTBY's beautiful VC10 models.
5 Separate soundpack versions have been made, by Benoit, for these aircraft and are as follows ....
Flight Simulator X (specific) Rolls Royce Conway -550 (AI Traffic)
AVSIM FILE NAME = fsx_conway-550_soundai.zip
Flight Simulator X (specific) Rolls Royce Conway - 550 (cockpit & external views)
AVSIM FILE NAME = fsx_conway-550_cockpit_view.zip
Flight Simulator X (specific) Rolls Royce Conway - 550 (Wing & external views)
AVSIM FILE NAME = fsx_conway-550_wing_view.zip
Flight Simulator 2004 (specific) Rolls Royce Conway - 550 (Wing & external views)
AVSIM FILE NAME = fs2004_conway-550_wing_view.zip
Flight Simulator 2004 (specific) Rolls Royce Conway - 550 (cockpit & external views)
AVSIM FULE NAME = fs2004_conway-550_cockpit_view.zip
FSX versions of each of the above soundpacks have been compiled specifically so as to take take full advantage of the additional audio parameters provided by the sound engine built into this particular FS version .... and which makes for "much better" sound representation (than provided by FS2004) when viewed from behind/ahead/beside each aircraft/simulation during FS exterior viewing mode.
FS2004 versions of ech of the a soundpacks have been compiled for specific compatibility with the sound engine of this other popular FS version.
Each soundpack features both interior and exterior audio .... BUT .... in the case of both the FSX and FS2004 soundpacks .... "2 options" for each are provided .... compiled specifically in accordance with 2 new sound environments for end user choice now provided for these aircraft.
The "cockpit & EXTERNAL" version soundpacks reproduce what would typically be heard aboard these aircraft "based on a flight deck perspective" .... and which is a sound environment that is "quite different" from that, ordinarily, heard from a "PAX cabin perspective" .... as well as featuring exterior engine and environmental sound also
The "WING & EXTERNAL" version soundpacks reproduce what would be heard aboard these aircraft "based on a PAX cabin perspective" .... and which is sound environment that is, again, "quite different" from that heard from a "flightdeck perspective" .... as well as featuring exterior engine and environmental sound also.
The choice is then "UP TO THE END USER" .... to decide which particular audio environment they prefer to install for their DMFS VC10 aircraft.
The only thing the end user must be sure to take care with during their downloading installation process is .... (1) the AI version soundpack is intended for use with for AI TRAFFIC based aircraft only .... (2) the FSX version soundpacks are intended for FSX use only and in according to the 2 options/environments provided .... and (3) the the FS2004 version soundpacks re intended for FS2004 use only and in according to the 2 options/environments provided also.
PLEASE NOTE: HJG does not provide technical support for these soundpacks (since the VC10 is a DMFS simulation and not an HJG offering) .... so .... please be sure to "CAREFULLY READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS" provided within each download .... and the direct any queries appropriately. Do not be tempted to use any of these soundpacks with the HJG B707-420 or DC8-40 simulations because .... (a) the version of RR CONWAY 508/509 type engines fitted to these particular aircraft actually exhibited an entirely different tone .... and (b) these new soundpacks "are not" compiled in accordance with the FDE for these other aircraft types anyway. Use these new soundpacks with the DMFS produced VC10 models, panels, and FDE only.
In the meantime .... here is a video, made by Benoit, to promote the new FSX version VC10 RR CONWAY 550 fanjet engine soundpack/s ....
