I am sure I must have done something wrong in installing the new files for the L1011. I installed the L1011-1 and the 50 into the existing aircraft file installing the new aircraft cfg., Model, & Air file. I installed the gauges into the fsx gauges folder, installed the sounds into the fsx sounds folder from the L1011 TRISTAR RR RB211-22B PANELand deleted the Panel cfg. and changed the FSX Panel to Panel cfg. then, when I open the a/c in fsx, I have no HSI, the AT switch doesn't move, and the Mach number gauge at the top right of the panel is dead. Also when I open the Throttle page, the function switch to the INS isn't there. I installed the gauge core file, and thought I'd installed everything else properly, however I have those issues. Any Ideas? I truly love this model, and am gratefull for all you guys do at HJG. I know I must have messed up something but can't figure out what. Since I have several different models of each one, I just deleted the old files and installed the new files, copying over the textures to the new Aircraft cfg. Falcon

The current L-1011 panels don't have a "Mach number gauge at the top right of the panel" -- I suspect you're trying to use the new Core Files with the old panel package, as this would give problems a lot like which you describe.

As George implies .... When updating these HJG L1011 (or any other) files from old to new versions .... the correct procedure is actually to "REMOVE" all evidence of old/original file versions from FS in order to replace these with the newest/latest versions .... or problems can/will often result. File replacing/updating by means of "overwriting" sometimes isn't the best, or even a recomended, general procedure A "fresh install" of everything is always best/recomended ALSO .... (and this doesn't apply to "FALCON's" installation in this particular case) I need to remind .... Be sure to use/install only those file versions provided here .... by HJG .... on this particular website .... and which are customised for use with the simulations we offer. Those/Any file versions available elsewhere (which also includes non-HJG relrased panel options too) are either old or may not be entirely compatible with what's offered here by HJG .... therefore such files aren't/can't be supported by us. Thanks both of you for your heads up. The question I have is: The gauges from the Version 1 are installed in FSX Gauges folder. How do I make sure all of those are deleted? The rest is easy. I guess sometimes the softest easiest way is not a short cut! Thanks again to all. Love these HJG A/Cs. Falcon AKA DA

The core files, is a simple overwrite, but otherwise check the filenames in the new core packages and delete the same ones. But as been suggested, it is not the core files that are the issue, but the new panel packages you need to re install.

Denny
"FORGET/REMOVE" everything you've ever had for the L1011'a that relates relation to the old V1 files .... with the exception of the RR RB211 turbofacn soundpack FSX version in your case) and each of your previously selected L1011 textures/liveries which haven't changed at all.
Download all of the new/upgraded "V2" files and reinstall the entire simulation "from scratch" .... that means the aircraft base packs (with their new FDE), panel/s, and guages/core files too. and into which you can then install the soundpacks and textures/liveries
Don't try'n mix and match or use anything from the old V1 files .... barring the soundpack and texture/livery files as I've mentioned.
Do that .... and you won't/shouldn't have any problem/s whatsoever.

Thanks to both of you for your advice. And Mark, I ended up doing what you said, removed everything, and new install, dragging the old Texture files etc into the new Cfg. and everything works great now. I just need to read about the auto pilot and use it properly. Thanks guys appeciate the info. Falcon
