"THANK YOU" for doing that Dan
And welcome .... everyone .... to another HJG website.
As usual .... the following notes are intended to introduce what's new and included within this website update and where to find it .... the primary purpose of which is to hilight a few details of importance as well as aid those whom may be new to, or are still becomming acquainted with, the way everything's presented on the HJG website.
Firsly .... a few words about the new and updated CV880-22, Cv880-22M, CV880-22F, and CV880-22M/F aircraft base pack file ....
The original HJG released aircraft base pack files for each of the above aircraft types have now been edited and new/improved versions uploaded.
In the case of the PAX configured "CV880-22M" aircraft versions (real world) .... these particular aircraft (only) were equipped with LE edge Kruger Flap segements .... which are featured and are now working (on the basis of standard FS Flap keyboard commands) on these particular 3D models .... BUT PLEASE NOTE .... the similar "CV880-22M/F FREIGHTER" 3D model, which is simply a duplication of the cargo door equipped CV880-22F 3D model (because no stand-alone CV880-22M/F model ws ever produced by HJG), does not feature animated LE devices, however, these devices have none-the-less been written into the FDE for this particular aircraft version .... and "will" therefore result in it being able fly accordingly.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO .... the standard/original production CV880-22 and 22F FREIGHTER aircraft versions (real world) were never equiped with leading edge devices and HJG's 3D models do, correctly, reflect this configuration and "will also" perform accordingly.
As a result .... both LE device equipped CV880-M aircraft simulations should/"will" be ale to fly T/O's and landings at least 10 KTS slower than their original/earlier CV880-22 counterparts.
PLEASE NOTE ADDITIONALLY .... the HJG 3D CV880-22F and CV880 22M/F FREIGHTER models feature a working/animated port side forward fuselage maindeck cargo door.
This particular animation works on the basis of "SHIFT" .... "E" .... (with a slight pause) .... "2" keyboard commands (the very same key stroke combinations that work the cargo door animations on each of HJG 3D DC8-F models).
Please bear-in-mind that these particular keyboard commands are known to work better on some systems than others .... BUT .... there's nothing we/HJG can do in order to ensure the fidelity of this functionality on every system .... SORRY.
A number of changes, and corrections, have been incorporated into each of these 4 updated CV880 aircraft base packs.
Each of these simulations .... we feel .... "IS" now flying a little better than was the case previously.
A new "BASIC FLYING GUIDE" for each of the CV880 simulations has been compiled (by me) and forms part the "CV880/CV990 PANEL INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" data posted as follows ....
tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/1699/cv880-panels-installation-handling-notes?I have not, yet, had time to similarly recompile basic flying guides for each of the CV990's.
New CV880 and CV990 specific manuals will be compiled and posted (by me) later .... I simply haven't had time to complete these yet either I'm sorry
PLEASE NOTE .... there have been "NO CHANGES WAHATSOEVER" to any of the CV880 panels, gauges/core files, soundpacks, and aircraft textures/liveries.
All of these files remain "UNCHANGED".
Those whom already have the HJG CV880 simulations installed therefore need only replace their old/original FDE files (both the CFG.FILE and AIR FILE must be replaced) with the new data provided .... or these simulations simply will not work as intended.
for those installing the HJG CV880 simulations for the very first time .... this will simply be a "standard/routine operation" .... requiring installation of the new base packs .... followed by the established panels, gauges/core files, soundpacks, and texture files.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO .... no changes have yet been applied to any of the HJG CV990 simulations at this time.
And now in regard to what else is new/updated and where/how to find it ....

a "DONATE" tab is now a permanent feature on the HJG Home page. This is common practice among most major FS websites also. It's intended to fascilitate donations to HJG's service provider .... SIMVIATION.COM. PLEASE NOTE .... HJG is, and will always remain, a 100% "FREEWARE" FS website. Donations are, "purely voluntary" .... on th part of each willing individual .... but ... are "VERY MUCH APPRECIATED" .... because every contribution does help maintain the web service that allows the growing HJG inventory to exist for everyones enjoyment. "THANK YOU" .... to all those within the FS community whom have already taken the time to kindly donate something .... and .... "THANKS" in advance .... to all those whom might do so in the future
Enjoy these latest HJG releases folks.
Should anyone have any queries or encounter any problem/s, at all, then don't hesitate bringing these to our attention.
As always .... we'll do our very best to "TRY'N" assist as quickly as is possible.
"THANK YOU" .... everyone .... for your continued HJG/SIMVIATION support
