Hello! Looks like a great group and a fantastic organization.
Feeling like a dummy, I cannot get FS9 to recognize HJG aircraft. I looked up how to install and did so. Downloaded an aircraft from the site. Unzipped the aircraft FROM my download folder TO my FS9 aircraft folder per instructions.
Aircraft folder (DC-9-20) made it into my aircraft folder and sits there with all my other aircraft. However FS9 will not show it as an aircraft to choose.
I noticed on another attempt, that the actual model, panel, sound, etc files seemed like they were nested within. Meaning the folder I unzipped looks like an aircraft folder, however an identical folder within that folder was where the real aircraft folder was.
So. I took that nested aircraft folder out and made it such that it had the necessary files for FS9 to read (as the other aircraft are) in my collection.
Ugh.
I looked for related articles here and must have missed them or something. Any ideas?

When our aircraft don´t display within the MSFS aircraft seloectio menue .... then 9 times out of 10 times this´s the result of a simple/innocent FLTSIM.XX errors/misunderstanding when pasting and activating data with the AIRCRAFT.CFG file. Without seeing prcisely what you´ve done .... you need to check some the following .... 1. That you´ve edited the first line in your FLRSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT texture data to read FLTSIM.O .... and with each other addon texture for the same aircraft type then reading FLIGHTSIM.1, FLTSIM.2 .... and 3 etc .... otherwise resulting in a "NO SHOW" aircraft. 2. That you´re using "DC9-20" textures (only) for the DC9-20 aircraft base pack models .... otherrwise the SIM= data line within the FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT texture data isnt going to agree with the aircraft type AIR.fILE name´.... resulting in a "NO SHOW" aircraft. 3. That you hven´t still got the valid aircraft base pack folder (the one that should be installed inside the FS9/FS2004 "AIRCRAFT" folder) still contained inside a containing folder from the original ZIP file .... and which will also result in a "NO SHOW" aircraft. These are the most common simple errors that some people do make from time to time. Care to "COPY & PASTE" your DC9-20 CFG data .... just the FLTSIM.XX related ADD TO AIRCRAFT texture data only though (not the whole darnd thing) for the DC9-20 aircraft and texture combinations you´re currently trying to install ? Do that .... and I´ll be pleased take a look at it for you .... and adsvise .... and hopefully resolve your problem in the process.... subjct to my own personal availability of course Mark C BOG/CO

Jtblst,
Did you use administrator's rights when installing HJG products into your plane?

Let him get back us (HJG SUPPORT) himself please Aharon .... since I don´t think what he´s experiencing is the type of issue you´re referring to. I just don´t want to see matters potentially confused here .... thanks Mark C BOG/CO

I knew I was being a dummy. I read the instructions and it was one of those things where the obvious goes way out the window, and you spend the rest of the night in minutia ville. duh. She's up and running! Now to upgrade that panel! Really looking forward to the ones you have available for download! Thanks Mark!

Wow!
Again, new to the site, new to the planes, however I am impressed! Thank you for the help!
Thank you guys for making some fantastic stuff! A lot of it too.
I have everything I need and I see how it all works now. HAHA. Funny how well things go when you read, then UNDERSTAND the directions. They could not have been more clear and plain.

No problem "JETBLST" .... you´re only human liuke the rest of us ANYWAY .... I glad you´ve got it sorted and are now, apparently, up and running. You´ll have a lot of fun with the HJG DC9 series .... and more-so if you´re using the DC9 panels provided by us too as these are quite systems/procedures intense .... and as well as being one of the best panel series currently offered by HJG (thanks to the efforts of both Stellan HILMERBY and George CARTY) they´re also the only FS DC9 panels "actually customised" for the HJG DC9 simulations. In order to further enhance your virtual DC9 experience .... be sure to take the necessary time in order to familiarise yourself with my "DC9 PANELS INSTALLATION & HANDLING NOTES" which are located on the "DOUGLAS AIRCRAFT SUPPORT" forum page. This extensive posting goes a long way beyond explaining the recommended installation procedures .... to cover almost everything else that´s essention to be known so as to be able to derive the utmost enjoyment from these DC9 simulations. Post any further "DC9 related" queries you might have on the "DOUGLAS AIURCRAFT SUPPORT" forum page .... and we´ll be glad to try´n advise Mark C BOG(/CO
