I'm glad someone's made the effort to comment along these lines .... because we did "a lot" of work on these DC10 FDE's We uncovered a lot of discrepencies within the best of the laat releases of the original materlal and "CORRECTED" these as best oould .... to the extent that it actually took us some 3 years to develop the "NEW" FDE which asccompanies this release. Folk should find these FDE's "VASTLY SUPERIOR" .... and in particular .... each of these DC10 simulations now approach correctly and land b-e-a-u-t-f-u-l-l-y too .... provided they're flown right to start with of course Mark C AKL/NZ

And I agree, landing it manually feels just awesome, it's gonna be one of those birds where you turn off the A/T and the FD as soon as you can and "feel" the approach all the way down I dabbled a bit with the CLS DC-10 a few months ago and it was a huge disappointment, now this one has fully met my expectations, congratulations and thanks!

I was looking forward for he L-1011 upgrades, I said to myself "what a beautiful Christmas present, my favorite craft getting yet another boost of realism in FS". I just popped in today on the main HJG website and I was surprised to see a DC-10 displayed on the "2nd homepage". I was thinking "wait a sec, these guys wouldn't display a simulation that they DO NOT offer here on the homepage...what's going on here?! You don't say...the DC-10....is available..." and sure enough...the DC-10 is now in HJG' inventory. I'm speechless my dear fellow simmers, speechless, very happy and thankful for your continued work! Can't wait to upgrade my L-1011 fleet and.....I own the CLS DC-10, but I can't wait to ride these new DC-10 simulations, who knows, they might replace CLS in my hangar.
Unbelievable, truly unbelievable, I wasn't expecting a DC-10 release any time soon at all, let alone as a Christmas present, thank you guys so much for what you're doing, mighty appreciated!

Again you guys at HJG, exceeded the boundary's. Hand flying the 10's is awesome. Even tho I have to use a different panel they still fly beautifully. Thank you all at HJG for all you do and what a great present to us Simmers. Happy Holidays to all. Falcon

The long awaited rollout of the DC-10 is here and boy was the wait worth it! I just flew a hop from KSLC to KLAS and as usual great craftsmanship. What really jumped out at me with this update was the sound...you guys nailed the DC-10 "growl"! Very impressed, keep up the hard work. Great job guys...looking forward to what the HJG skunkworks has for 2015.

"YES INDEED" .... Benoit's made a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l job of each of these 3 DC10 soundpacks And these are each brand new/recently compliled (they/ve also taken some 2 years to perfect)/never previouslyy released audio. REMEMBER THOUGH .... Each of these 3 soundpacks have been compiled on the basis of AIR.FILE thrust curving for each of the 3 aircraft/engine type representations. For this reason it's "vitally important" to use the correct aircraft/engine type soundpack with the correct DC10 aircraft type/FDE version .... or .... these soundpacks simply won't/can't work as intended. Configuration of FS Sound Slider settings .... within OPTIONS/SETTINGS/SOUND (FS2004) .... also plays an equally important role in optimal audio-playback quality too but these settings can vary among FS aircraft soundpacks. On my own system the best FS Sound Slider positions (proportions of sound) for each of these 3 DC10 soundpacks has, so far, been determined to be as follows .... "ENGINES" = 45% "cockpit" = 75 % "ENVIRONMENT" = 65% .... but .... these/the best settings will vary and be determined by PC based audio-hardware/device capabilities as well as personal preference too. My advice is .... Experiment with the above recommended settings "first" .... and then .... be prepared to adjust these in acccordance with both "audio-hardware/device capabilities" and "personal preference". Did my first two complete flights with the DC-10 today and the package is truly amazing, especially the FDEs. The autothrottle left me very well impressed, precise and responsive with no sudden peaks or lows, and lets you do a good energy management with no surprises. Hand flying is the best part, I took her on the infamous VORDME 05 at LPMA, and it was just great. Only negative point so far is the absence of autobrake, hope it's something that can be added in future updates All in all, a fabulous release, looking forward to build more hours in this fabulous bird and for more textures to come along. Cheers

I hope you guys make the 737 classics.
Thank you merry Christmas and a happy new year

As mentioned by me within my orientation notes which accopanied this website update announcement .... This release should be considered "an apetizer" only. We "hope" to be able to further improve it during 2015, but, that's going to depend upon what we can do with the source code we were given by Erick. Whether or not these improvements might include an AB feature too .... I can't say at this point of of time. Please try to direct all future "technical commentary" in regard to these DC10's to the "McDONNELL-DOUGLAS SUPPORT" forum page .... thanks Apart from that .... it's great to see people (those whom have cared to comment so far at least) enjoying these simulations. Thanks for the positive feedback so far .... because we do appreciate all of that Mark C AKL/NZ

Greetings,
I went through the whole registration process to say THANK YOU for repairing the L-1011s and for adding the DC-10s! They are fabulous!
I don't know where to request an aircraft itself, but I'd love to see the MD-11 preserved in all its forms. I always found it to be an amazing aircraft.
Keep up the great work.

Thanks again to the HJG Team for another great update, and another great year of providing the community with an outstanding product. I have a question concerning the New DC-10 series from Erick. I seem to remember that when he was developing the DC-10 he had also modeled a KC-10 or was at least in the process of doing so. I was wondering if those files were included in the files that he provided, and if so would they eventually be made available? Surely it would be a nice addition to the military product variations that are currently available on your site.

Comments noted and appreciated .... "THANKS" ABOUT THE KC10 .... Someone painted the/a VL DC10 in USAF livery/ies some time ago .... to, supposedly, represent a KC10, but, I'm not sure that Erick ever actually edited his basic DC10-30F 3D model with all the necessary KC10 related bits'n'pieces. I can't confirm that though IN SO FAR AS DEVELOPMENT/REDEVELOPMENT OF THESE DC10's IS CONCERNED (using the source code which Erick supplied us at least) .... One thing at a time please .... since a number of you have contacted me privately. We've only just launched the DC10's some 3 weeks ago .... "in their most basic form" .... and they're already up for, and are being, redeveloped. These developments/advances may be noted per my (locked) "DC10 TESTING & DEVELOPMENT CONTUNES" thread on the "PREVIEWS" page of the HJG forum .... HOWEVER .... there's "a limit" to what we can do .... with what we have .... BUT .... this particular thread does demonstrate what we've so far been able to achieve .... as well as what we eventually hope to be able to achieve/offer also. That particular thread will remain a "locked" one though .... simply because whlst we/HJG do aim to "try'n please", I don't want to open the DC10 redevelopment project up to a potential tsunami/flood of requests for this feature or that feature/modification to be added. We/HJG will continue to "try'n develop" the DC10's, based on the aids we currently have, in order to try'n improve what we can .... but .... only as we perceive is best or most easily achieved by us on the basis of our current skill level. Sorry .... but .... it "HAS TO" be that way I trust/hope everyone/most understand Mark C AKL/NZ

Is there going to be another new aircraft anytime soon? I really hope the excellent HJG team do an MD-11, my favourite aircraft

Interest "APPRECIATED" .... but .... we've only just launched a new aircraft simulation here during December (which is also about to receive its first update) and which took us some 3 years to complete. I wouldn't hold my breath for an MD11 .... or anything else brand new/debut (HJG-wise) for a while We're enjoying "a bit of break" from it all at the moment and after our last, and most recent, efforts Mark C AKL/NZ
