Folks .... we have just updated our entire range B707-138 & 138B models and textures.
Our highly talented B707 model mastercraftsman .... Gary CARLSON .... has recently reviewed our entire B707-138 inventory.
He has further perfected our 2 original B707-138 & -138B models .... and added yet another 2 models of the type based on later realworld configurations.
This is a complete Aircraft Base Pack and Textures update
You need to replace all your previous B707-138 & B707-138B files.
These changes do not affect previous effects, soundpack, or panel asssignments .... but .... another panel is also now being recommended. See "ABOUT HJG AIRCRAFT" forum page for further details regarding this.
Here's what's new ....
- Our original "B707-138" model (this is the original short tail P&W turbojet model from 1959 I'm talking about here) has been replaced with a more authentic version. Download the B707-138 Aircraft Base Pack .... available from our "B707-120" downloads page.
- Our original "B707-138B" model (this is the upgraded aircraft from 1961 I'm talking about here) has been replaced with 4 individual and more authentic versions. This has necesitated 2 new "B707-138 Aircraft Base Packs" being created as follows ....
- "B707-138B EARLY" Aircraft Base Pack .... containing 2 models .... featuring the early production aircraft in upgraded form with P&W JT3D fanjet aircraft of 1961 but which also retained some features of the original production aircraft .... named "MODEL.EARLY". A 2nd model is also included which features upgraded P&W JT3D fanjet engines with STAGE 2 HUSH KITS of the 1980's and which also retains other early production aircraft features .... named "MODEL.EARLY_S2HK".
- "B707-138B LATE" Aircraft Base Pack .... containing 2 models .... featuring the late production aircraft with P&W JT3D fanjet aircraft of 1964 which had a number of other revised features .... named "MODEL.LATE". A 2nd model is also included which features upgraded P&W JT3D fanjet engines with STAGE 2 HUSH KITS of the 1980's and which also retains other late production aircraft features .... named "MODEL.LATE_S2HK".
- "ALL" 19 B707-138B (not the standard -138 turbojet though) textures have been updated with new P&W fanjet engine, and and engine pylon textures. All textures have now been seperated into 2 groups .... 1 lot applicable to early production aircraft .... and the other lot applicable to late production aircraft. All textures have been matched with their correct aircraft versions. The early model engines on these aircraft are now the correct type .... with small sucker doors on each engine intake cowling, whilst the Stage 2 Hush Kitted aircraft feature the correct engine upgrade type for these aircraft.
Each of the 2 Aircraft Base Packs contains FDE specific to each type. Don't get it mixed up. There are differences governing wing light configurations for both aircraft types .... incorporated into the AIRCRAFT.CFG files for each.
We recommend replacing the original B707-138B Aircraft Base Pack you will have had installed in FS. Replace it with these 2 new Base Packs .... and apply your textures accordingly for each aircraft type.
FOR A MUCH FULLER REPOPRT ON THE ACTUAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE B707-138 & -138B AIRCRAFT VERSIONS, PLEASE REVIEW THE THREAD ENTITLED "NEW B707-138/B UPDATES AVAILABLE NOW" ON OUR "PREVIEWS" FORUM PAGE.
