Area 38 refers to Addon Scenery in FS9.
What I did was, I checked the box that said "clear cache on CD-ROM after every exit" or words to that effect. The thing is, mine *is not* a complete install. So, now, I have been getting an error that says the "remote path" (huh)is not valid/ or can't be found. Click ok to continue.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

I don't have FS 2004, but FSX will give one the same thing on start up and exit if that scenery is corrupted. Is this an addon scenery? What you have to do is find Scenery area 038, click on edit to find out what it is and then go from there! That is the way in FSX anyway. Good luck, Falcon

Falcon,
Thanks for your reply.
To answer your question, Is is addon scenery? Ah, well, yes and no. I'm using the scenery as provided by Microsoft. But, I've been adding waypoints, to both FS9 and FSX; Waypoints or their .BGL file go in Addon Scenery>scenery folder. So, FS9 might see it that way, as "Addon scenery"
Interestingly enough, I think all this with the Area 38 started when I clicked on the "Edit..." button,(in the "scenery library" I think they call it)... just to see what I could see. However, after I clicked, it didn't advance to the "page". Even so, that's when I started getting the Area 038 warnings.
