LBS (pounds) .... per engine .... multiplied by 3 .... in order to determine the total fuel burn across all 3 engines.
Meaning .... 6,538 LBS per hour per engine .... or .... a total of 19,614 LBS total per hour across all 3 engines.
Needless to say, perhaps, but, the F/F for each aircraft engine type is different .... and will vary considerably in accordance with altitude and engine power in the cruise.
Better fuel enonomy can be realised by restricting cruise velocity/airspeed to around MACH 0.81 through MACH 0.82 .... and which, although DC10's are capable of considerably high velocities/airspeeds, is more typical of these aircraft.
