Interesting note Re Viasa C880 YV-C-VIC seems like Viasa had a DC8-53 with same registration as The Convair as seen in this photo. www.airliners.net/photo/Viasa/Douglas-DC-8-53/1536068/L/&sid=4bbab4174667cf64e176ead92aa817baWas the regn transferred to the DC8 when it was purchased in 1966 and added to Viasa Fleet, Also painted KLM/Viasa split livery. I guess about that time CV880 were being phased out of Viasa . I worked with the Viasa CV880,s for a few months just prior to them being phased out on the Curacao Kingston Miami route ,they hardly ever had a full PAX load and swapped for more economical DC9 10s. ?? Just curious.

Actually Falcon with the Vickers VC10 Panel, it does handle and operate fine, all the gauges work and the landing gear and sub panels and lights work with the switches, tho my VC10 is different than most peoples it wasn't the freeware version, that are usually found. All the flaps work, airleons work, radios, and the controls and flightability are fine and seem fairly accurate.

If it does, it can't be an accurate VC 10 panel

I remember seeing -880s & -990s on final to JFK during the 60s. So many airlines, so many aircraft; the education I rec'd in general aviation is to be envied (& something I appreciate very much).

Hi folks: I have proposed at this forum some time ago to use David Malthbys VC 10 panel with the CV 990B but I think now its not so a good idea. My main problem then was my impression of nose high attitude with the HJG delivered panel and some disfunctionalities of the ADI. I came to the conclusion that the nose high attitude problem can be solved by reducing the Zoom Factor to 0,7 and the ADI problems by a small change in the aircraft.cfg. For my pleasure I have tinkered around with the HJG Verlin panel and have published some screenshots. Alltogether one has to accept, that the funcionality, the colours and the overall feeling one can achieve reworking the Verlin panel are superior to implanting the VC-10 panel. tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/8152/convair-coronadoKind regards Walter

I always thought that it was interesting that Elvis would buy a plane such as a Delta airliner - when, in realty, he didn't need to buy a plane that big. But, he never ever liked a Lear jet because of their small size. He liked big "toys", so to speak. He told his cousin, Billy Smith, "I hope they keep making cars smaller and smaller because I'll just keep buying bigger and bigger ones!"
I've posted this before but here goes: "Elvis originally paid $750,000 to purchase what became the "Lisa Marie" (which I think is a beautiful plane, by the way). He then spent another $250,000 customizing it to his liking - including a bedroom in the back (with a seat belt on it due to FAA regulations at the time).
Both the Lisa Marie and the companion JetStar are at Graceland after a huge debate on whether the owner of the planes wanted to buy them back and move them from Graceland - but, cooler heads prevailed and both planes reside for now across the street from Graceland. Graceland is currently developing a multi-million dollar structure that (IIRC) will house the planes and get them out of the elements of the weather - that is, if they don't get damaged while they're being moved because of their age (well over 50-60 years old).
