OK .... so the 3D model is displaying, but, without its texture .... meaning .... the aircraft base pack is obviously installed correctly in order to be able to display the 3D model .... albeit "naked" though.
This probably suggests the problem is confined to either the texture folder name .... OR .... the TEXTURE= data line within the FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data in the CFG.FILE for this simulation.
1. Check that you have not (inadvertently) still got the DELTA AIR LINES DC-10-10 texture folder contained inside its containing folder from the original ZIP folder.
2. Check also that the DELTA AIR LINES texture folder name agrees precisely with what is stated within the TEXTURE= data line within the FLTSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data in the CFG.FILE for this particular simulation.
Either one of these scenarios could, and most probably would, result in what you´re experiencing.
I´ll let Herman talk you through any configurational details that might still need to be considered .... but in the meantime .... try the above 2 possibilities and report back.

I´ve just checked both DELTA AIR LINES DC-10-10 textures that we currently offer here .... and related each of their current texture folder names to what appears in their supporting FLtSIM.XX/ADD TO AIRCRAFT data for each .... and cofirm that this data, as supplied by us/HJG is "correct", so, this point within my above suggestion (mismatching of the texture folder name/s and TEXTURE= FLTSIM.XX data) can now be ruled-out.
So .... check my suggested "folder within a folder" suggestion.
Beyond this I´ll lest Herman follow through now with any further FSX related advice that he might be able to offer you ;(

Hello deltalover;
I proceeded and loaded the DC-10-10 with the Delta AL texture into my FSX and it showed up just fine with no problems.
As Mark mentioned and since you are getting a naked DC-10-10 your aircraft base pack is probably installed properly, so you may want to check your texture folder to see if it is installed properly. Note, that the texture folder also contains a folder within a folder. It is that inner folder that you need to copy and paste into your aircraft folder.
Once that is done you need to open the "add to aircraft" note pad and copy and paste that into your aircraft cfg file and change the fltsim data from [fltsim.xx] to [fltsim.0]
Now I also deleted the contained Panel folder and Sound folder because they are aliased to FS2004, and remember that the DC-10 Panels offered by HJG are not FSX compatible, so you need to substitude them with Panels and Sound folders that are FSX compatible.
Hope this helps.
Herman

This´s very odd ! His FLTSIM.XX data "is" correctly configured. His TEXTURE folder "is" correctly named .... and its folder name is correct/consistent with what´s represented within the TEXTURE= data line of his FLTSIM.XX component. His texture "IS" assigned to the correct aircraft base pack and 3D model. The supporting texture folder and it´s BMP files are all fine .... as just confirmed by Herman. I´m all out of suggestions now .... other than to enquire as follows .... "DELTAAIRLINESLOVER12" .... is this happening with every other DC-10 texture you have installed .... assuming you have other DC-10 textures iustalled ? I´m just wondering if some form of selectable texture/graphic setting within FSX (if such exists) may be preventing these from being recognized and displayed by FSX on your system/in your particular case ? That´s all I can think of .... I´m sorry Any ideas Herman ? Mark C BOG/CO

Yes, it is indeed unusual. I have, very occasionally experienced, that when after selecting the Aircraft from the Aircraft Menu in FSX, the Aircraft would not display it's Texture\Paint, but as I continued to load the Aircraft it would show up OK.
I also would like to know which Panel and Sound DAL is using, all though, usually if the wrong Panel and Sound are used the Aircraft will not show in the Menu at all.
If DAL is using the Panel and Sound from the original HJG download it would not be right because they are aliased to aircraft from FS2004.
That is about all I can think of right now.

Looking at DAL texture files (bmp's etc.) I noted that he is missing a Data Base File called "Thumbs.db".
I do not know the function of this file, or as to wheather it be connected with his problem.

Not sure Herman .... sometimes that "THUMBS" icon can be auto-generated when transferring data (textures in this particular case) from 1 PC to another and per either CD or DVD .... as I´ve often done in the past. "DELTAAIRLINESLOVER12" .... I don´t know if the following recommendation is relevant to your case, but, try Dan´s following advice from among our "FSX INSTALLATION" advisories .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/2269/turn-off-dx10-preview-fsxI wouldn´t mind betting that this situation "might" come down to graphics settings/configurations within FSX itself .... since the file/a are compiled correctly and display OK on Herman´s system. Glad to hear deltaairlineslover that your problem was solved by turning off the DX10 Preview. Was this the first time that you installed an aircraft into FSX??
Just wondering if this only applies to HJG Aircraft or other 3rd party installations as well??

Glad you appear to be sorted now "DELTAAIRLINESLOVER12" .... and thanks for your input too Herman "DELTAAIRLINESLOVER12" .... although the HJG DC-10 "panel" inventory is not, yet, FSX portable (we´re hoping to release something more advanced/sophisticated and FSX portable too in the future) .... we "DO" now offer "very high quality" FSX specific soundpacks for each of the DC-10 family .... so .... give yourself "a treat" by instralling our FSX specific GE CF6-6 DC-10-10 soundpack. You´ll find it among the DC-10 soundpacks on our "McDONNELL-DOUGLAS SOUNDS" page .... but .... be sure to select the "FSX version" (only) for FSX use Might pay you to familiarise yourself with our following DC-10 documents ("SECTION 5" in particular) and flying guides also .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/7344/dc10-panel-installation-handling-notesEnjoy "The Big 10" Here´s some promo videos of each of our/Benoit PLAMONDON´s new "FSX SPECIFIC" DC-10 soundpacks .... currently available from the above mentioned HJG soundpacks page ....
