When you say you´re confronted with "a black screen" .... from which point of view are you referring to ?
Are you referring to what should (normally) be a panel view .... or what ?
Please advise !

When you say an FSX compatible panel .... what panel (precisely) are you referring too )
Another HJG panel option like Herman´s apparently using ? .... or .... another non-HJG supplied panel option ?
Of course we can only provide support for whatever´s downloaded from this/the HJG website .... BUT .... not in the case of anyhing procured from elsewhere.
One thing you can try is this ....
"IF" you care to use a default FSX jet panel assignment (even temporarily just in order to get you up and running) .... THEN .... you´ll need to change the PANEL.CFG data, inside the default Panel folder (supplied with the base pack) to read as follows ....
[fltsim] alias=B737_800\panel
"IF" you´re doing something like Herman´s doing .... and using an HJG supplie L-1011 panel .... THEN .... I´ll have to let him advise you .... and it must also then be borne-in-mind too that I don´t know just how compatible any of the HJG supplied L-1011 panels are if used with our DC-10´s
We need to know precisely what you´re doing/trying to install withe your DC-10 here

found the problem: "DX10" setting, when I turned it back on, the panel showed up, but the textures went missing again.

We need to know "precisely" what you´re doing .... what you´re trying to install panel-wise (right down to the aircraft type and panel version) with your DC-10. Please be as specific/clear as possible .... so we can, in turn, then better interpret and advise you Better state your system type and specs too ! I´d suggest leavig DX10 "OFF" for the time being. OK .... "THAT" particular panel version is not one provided by us, so, I regret to say, we can´t provide support for it.
I also need to say .... "THAT" particular panel version "was not" compiled for use with the DC-10 simulations we/HJG offer .... and which are much more recent, than the original version of these simulations for which "that" particular panel was aimed at.
I´d be inclined to steer you back toward a "DEFAULT FSX (type) JET PANEL" assignment .... or .... suggest you maybe even consider doing something along the lines of what Herman´s done .... using one of the HJG supplied L-1011 panels with round analogue gauges.
At least he could then talk you through what he did io order to assign it to the DC-10´s he has installed .... and for which we can at least, then, provide support for .... being an HJG compiled product.

Just digressing for a moment .... BUT .... in absence of the readiness of our own FSX portable DC-10 panel series at this stage .... the following option, by Thomas RUTH .... I believe .... may be considered "a far better and more compatible" option for use with the HJG offered DC-10 simulations. This opinion "IS" based on experience using this particular panel option by some of our staff .... being used as an interim FSX option only. Here´s a video relating to it .... and which also promotes our new FSX specific GE CF6-50 soundpacks (both flightdeck view/perspctive and wing/cabin view/perspctive .... separate sounpack options) for our DC-10-15 and -30 SERIES simulations .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=2atNIdYpLhEJust bear-in-mind please .... that HJG "DOES NOT" (and cannot) support this particular, and otherwise apparently "very compatible", FSX specific panel option Mark C BOG/CO

deltalover....the reason you are getting a "back screen" could be because you did not install the Panel and associated files properly. I will download this Panel and try to install it myself.
I will report back later.

eltaairlineslover...OK, I installed the same Panel as you had indicated in your post and it showed up Ok in FSX. (DX10 must be de-activated).
You must follow the installation instructions.
There is also a Dc-10 available on flightsim.com by Thamas Ruth and Erick Cantu. You can download it and use the Panel from that aircraft if you wish.

Yes I did use Thomas RUTH, Eric CANTU DC-10 freeware panel for FSX in my video previewing the flightdeck view of my DC-10-30 soundpack. Although HJG cannot provide support for it, you download it from AVSIM, file name: tomdc10.zip
Link: library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxac&DLID=167876
It comes with a readme file for instructions and you can use the panel and gauges from that package for the HJG/Eric CANTU DC-10s as interim panel.
