The MD-81
This is not your classic case of the Panel not displaying. What I can see is the A/P buttons. The "microsoft buttons" and one other thing, I don't know what it is.
I have screenshots of the whole thing, i.e. CFG's basepack folders, and the view out of the flight deck, but I can't figure out how to post a pic from a remote location. Flickr in this case.
Could someone help me out?
Thanks in advance,

Hi T&C, just a very quick question. What version of FS are you using? FS9 or FSX? Cheers, Bored and Hot (Nathan)

I could, but:
a) you have to log in to see them and b) I have 6 of them. 3 for each MD. And c) aerofoto/Mark suggested that I do it this way so he doesn't have to log in each time. He says that's the way most members display their photos.

UMMM .... The/Our MD-80 panels have worked "fine" for you previously .... because I've provided support for you, for these, and on this same support forum page too (as can be seen), a number of times previously .... within the past 24-36 months in fact. I can't relate your description to any known condition .... in fact there are "no known conditions" of any major significance in regard to any of the 4 panel versions we offer for use with each of our MD-80 simulation. SO THEN .... bearing all of this in mind .... What (precisely) have you done, on this particular occasion, that may be different to whatever you've done previously .... in regard your previous installation and use of these same panels ? In the case of your JPEG's/images .... Why not just set up a "FREE" PHOTOBUCKET (or other imaging hosting service a/c). then, uplopad your imagery there.... and then post the image URL's "here" .... so we can better appreciate your difficulty and try to advise .... "if we can" Mark C AKL/NZ

The MD-81Here please notice that the "panel.md80_golding_white" is present in the basepack folder. This is an image of the MD-81's Aircraft CFG. Please notice that the md80_golding_white can be found next to the "panel=" entry (6th line down from the top.) The Result: The MD-83Please note: that the "panel.md80_spada" is present in the basepack folder. Please note that "md80_spada"can be found next to the "panel=" entry.(5th line down.) Here's an MD-82 aircraft.cfg you can use for comparison: The Result:I hope you can help me out. Thrills and Chills

It is quite simple TaC.
First you click on the "Reply" (not Quick Reply). Then you will see the icons at the top right corner.
Click on the icon that shows the trees. It will say Insert picture here. A box will show up highliting http\\ in blue.
Now go back to your Image hosting server and Copy the image you wish to send.
Now go back to the HJG Insert picture box. Hold your cursor over the line of the http\\ and click Paste.
Then click on "Incert Image" and it will do that below.
You can now go to "Preview" and have a look at your image. If you are happy then send.

Thanks for the information, I'll do it that way - next time. I did this full manual. Meaning, I went to Flickr and got the BB Code, spaced down composed. Wash, rinse, and repeat.
Thanks,

Based on what can be "seen" .... per the imagery you've provided ....
Your CFG data is all appears fine.
Your panel folders appear fine also and are placed as recommended .... although I/we can't see inside these in regard to theior content and what could (potentiaqlly) be causing a problem.
You last image .... in the case of the MD82 and GOLDING RED panel version is consistant with a CFG misconfiguratioin, but, isn't necesarily the cause of this resul/what can be see.
I very much doubt that your issue/s is/are being caused by either of the above.
Have you got each of the panel files correctly installed ?
1. In the case of each of our 4 MD80 panel files their gauges content "MUST" remain "inside each panel folder .... as supplied.
2. In the case of the 2 GOLDING panel files the content (only) of their accompanying PANEL SOUNDS containers (some 20 odd WAV samples) "MUST" be installed in inside the FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9 SOUNDS folder .... not the default Sound folder in each aircraft basse pack.
3. In the case of the 2 GOLDING and the SPADA panel files the content (only) of their accompanying PANEL MODULES containers (2 files) "MUST" be installed in inside the FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9 MODULES folder .... then .... the FS9.CFG fuile located and edited as follows ....
[OLDMODULES] FSSound.dll=1
4. In the case of the 2 GOLDING and the SPADA panel files the content (only) of their accompanying FS2004 containers (2 files) "MUST" be installed in inside the FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9 folder.
Do all of the above correctl .... precisely as precribed above and within the installation instructions which accompaney each file .... then there's no logical reason for any issues, at all, to arise. What I find puzzling is the fact that over the past 36 months you have had these files installed .... off and on (as evidenced throughout this particular forum support page) .... and without ny such difficiculties, but, are suddenly now experiencing "this particular difficulty".
Therefore I once again ask .... except in a case where you might (possibly) have incorrectly installed either one of the 4 above components .... what, if anything, have you done on this occasion/with this installation/reinstallation that differentfrom previously ?
Have you attempted to edit any non-HJG supplied/endorsed features into any of these panels ?
Have you recently performed any particular Windows/Syustem related updates .... which could (potentially) have some bearing on this particular issue ?
What OS are you using ?
Any number of potential variables may apply here
So far as I can determine .... the panel files we offer here are each "FINE" .... and no such issue/s, as these, have ever been reported (so far as i'm aware) since around 2011 when we first intrroduced them, so, whatever the cause of this issue may be, it must come down to installation .... or .... integration/adaption with your OS or its HW.

What I did do, was to move my md-80's to FSX, as I was getting advice from other forum members on the subject. I suppose I didn't like the panel for FSX, because, I moved them - the md-80's that installed in FSX - back to FS9; and that was that.
I only tested them now, I just presumed they *would* work. So, here we are here today.
I'm running system 7 64 Ultimate.
The only Windows Update issue I'm aware of, (that doesn't mean another one doesn't exist,) is, KB3086255. What that one was doing was preventing FS9 from running. The wording was (more or less) The system can't run the program you requested because you lack the privileges. Access Denied. Please login as an Administrator. I did some "Googling" and found out that KB3086255 was the culprit for my woes. So, I "hid" the update, (so it wouldn't download or apply it again,) and that took care of that.
So, if the sound folder is in the basepack of the a/c, *that* could do it?
What other screenshot(s) would you like for me to make?
Thanks in advance,
Thrills and Chills

My advice....delete all you have in FS9 and start from square 1, seeing that your apparently tranferred your files from ESX back to FS9.

FIRSTLY .... whilst our MD-80/90 Aircraft Base Pack files "ARE" all FSX "portable" (not native though) some of their model animations (like the forward fuselage airstairs in particular) "cannot" work within the FSX environment .... simply because whilst FSX does support the same OPTIONS/CONTROLS/ASSIGNMENTS feastures as FS9, and which govern the functionality of some of these animations, these commands (like those specifically required for the airstairs animations) "DO NOT" work the same way as in FS9 .... so these animations can't then function. This's all slightly "OFF-TOPIC" .... I realise .... but .... want to be clear in regard to for the sake of all FSX users SECONDLY .... "none" of our current MD-80 panel offerings are FSX compatioble .... so .... don't even attempt to try to run any of these particular panel within the FSX enironment .... because they simply "WILL NOT" work. Each of the compoments which make up our complete MD80/90 simulations (aircraft base packs, panels, soundpacks, and modules) are .... so far as I'm aware .... WINDOWS 7 compatible so there should be no issues there .... at all .... and more-so no issues at all in regard to FS9 compatibility and for which these files are primarily intended. The "SOUND" component I was referring to is the one contained within the downloadable Panel folders .... it's a container/folder specifically named "PANEL SOUNDS". I'm not referring to the default Sound folder within any of the aircraft base pack files .... and which alias these simulationms to default FS9 soundpacks or are replaced with the MD-80/-90 specific sounpack options we offer. The contents of the "SOUND" component I'm referring to .... some 20 individul WAV samples .... must be installed inside the "SOUND" folder of FS9 .... not the Sound folder inside your aircraft base pack/s. These files provide the panel/gauge sounds for these Panels. Installing this particular compoment incorrectly should simply result in the Panel sounds not then working .... but .... I don't think it'll break anything .... unless there's some degree of "critical gauge/sound audio interactive dependence". Once again I state .... you've had these panels running fine previously .... SO .... what have you done on this ocasion that's (potentially) resulted in this experience ? Identify this latter mystery and I think you'll also then resolve your issue on this particular occasion Otherwise .... we could (conceivably) end up running around in circles and chasing our tails here Mark C AKL/NZ
