I've been really enjoying my recent download of the DC10-40. I do have what I assume is an animation question though.
With engines running and viewed from outside the aircraft, I see all three turbines spinning. Viewing from inside the aircraft with Shift-Num pad 2 for a rear view, the turbines aren't spinning. Am I missing something in a config somewhere? I did my download 11-26-15 if that helps you at all.
Tnx.

"YES" there "IS" a minor issue there .... and one that we are aware of You've done nothing wrong .... at all Each of the engine fans do work perfectly/normally (they do rotate) in standard FS external viewing mode .... DC-10-40www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUUWIalbIyIHowever .... From interior rear panel-to-wing view (only) these fans will be seen to be static/stopped. We know what the issue is .... and have already developed the necessary fix (for the DC-10-10, -10CF/F, and -15 models only so far), but, haven't yet released these, since there's some other 3D model features we want to try to address also .... as well as another DC-10 project development/re-development which we're also currently working on too. It makes better sense, to us, to delay releasing the fix for this minor issue in favour of a later and more encompassing update/re-release of the project in the near future (just saves us time/having to do 2 separate updates otherwise). No definitive release date. Just bear with us .... please. This minor issue otherwise has no impact, whatsoever, on how well these simulations already fly. Mark C AKL/NZ

Thanks very much for letting me know and will look forward to when you're comfortable releasing the fix.
I hope you don't mind, but I do have an additional question about this particular aircraft.
For landing, I arm the spoilers and deploy flaps as usual and the spoilers go to full on contact with the ground like on other aircraft as you'd expect. What I find different about this one is after I'm all slowed down and apply a little throttle for taxiing, the spoilers stay at full and the flaps retract. All other FS aircraft that have spoilers are just the opposite. Is this a DC10 only feature?
It's no big deal, just different so I thought I'd ask.
Tnx.

There does seem to be an auto-flap retract function built into these DC-10's (this's been dicussed previously also), but, I find sometimes it happens and other times it doesn't .... only I've not, yet, hit on what actually triggers the event. It's one of the details we hope to be able to address per the later forthcomming and all-encompassing update. As you imply .... it doesn't otherwise impact operations though, so, you'll (everyone) will be fine .... but .... it can take an unsuspecting few by surprise .... I accept Mark C AKL/NZ

You're right, it is somewhat intermittent. I know I saw it auto-retract on one landing and then the next time when it didn't retract I thought I was mistaken about the one time it did.
Tnx

"IF" you'd like to trace the separate discussions we had a little while back .... in relation to both the fan and auto-flap retraction issues (located on the "McDONNELL-DOUGLAS" aircraft support forum page) .... then .... you'll be up-to-speed with what we already know in regard to both As I mentioned earlier though .... We do, already, have a fix for the fan related issue (which will require replacement 3D models), which we're just sitting on, for the moment, whilst we also hope to apply some other 3D model related improvements too .... whilst also, hopefully, being able to make sense of the auto-flap retraction issue after landing roll-out as well .... all of which we'd like to be able to release, in the near future, upon the completion of yet another separate stage of our DC-10 project Mark C AKL/NZ
