Nice presentation Benoit .... "THANKS"
Folk .... allow me to tell you a bit more about these new B727 soundpacks which incidentaly are not only Benoit's latest FS audio productions, but also, some of his best yet
This particular audio project has been some 3 years in the making .... rust doesn't sleep .... and nor does HJG .... despite periods of an apparently quiet public forum .... appearance can be decptive given what's going on behind the scenes, at any stage, within HJG
Each of these new soundpacks are "EXTREMLY" authentic .... having been compiled from real world audio references both outside and inside/aboard these particular aircraft.
As Benoit states .... a total of some 15 individual and new soundpacks will be released for use with all HJG supplied B727 simulations .... replacing our 3 current soundpack versions.
These new soundpacks will each be identified as follows ....
- "P&W JT9D-7" (for use with all JT8D-7 B727 aircraft base packs)
- "P&W JT8D-17" (for use with all JT8D-9, JT9D-15, and JT*D-17 B727 aircraft base packs)
- "P&W JT8D-217" (for use with all B727 RE SUPER 27 aircraft base packs)
PLEASE NOTE: JT8D-9 and D-15 specifc soundpacks will not be offered since there "IS NOT" sufficient tonal difference between either of these engines and the new material compiled to warrant additional audio productions. D-9 and D-15 audio will each therefore fall into the JT8D-17 category.
There will be separate FS2004 and FSX "specific" versions of these soundpacks .... for use with each of these FS platforms.
Each of these new soundpacks will also be offered as separate "FD" (flightdeck), "WV" (wing/cabin view) based audio options .... and separate FS2004 and FSX specific soundpacks will once again apply to these options also .... folk will therefore have the option of decide which particular environment they prefer.
Separate "AI" (AI traffic) version soundpacks representing each of the 3 individual aircraft engine types will also be offered .... but .... these will be for "FSX (only) use".
All FSX specific soundpack versions take advantage of the superior audio engine featured within this FS platform .... to result in a "VERY REAL" and imersive audio experience indeed .... benefiting not only from the quality of the material provided, but also, from the FSX dopplar effect too.
Each of these new soundpacks nust be used with the aircraft type/FDE version "for which they have been compiled" in order to work correctly .... these, and other, details will be advised and the current B727 support notes revised at the time of this release.
Here are some descriptive notes concerning each of the "FD, WV, and AI" related audio options soon to be available ....
"FD"/FLIGHT DECK SPECIFIC SOUNDPACKS: These particular soundpack versions are intended for use by those seeking high-quality audio based on what can be heard internally and from an exclusively "flightdeck" perspective only .... whilst also featuring customised external audio too. What is heard on the flightdeck is quite different from what is heard in the PAX cabin environment on any aircraft. For e.g .... using these particular soundpacks one will be treated to the predominant sound of flightdeck based avionics and wind friction noise in proportion to the simulations inflight acceleration but with much less audible engine noise .... and .... when selecting both flaps and landing gear one will hear the "click" of the associated levers along with the muffled "rumble" of the landing gear extension and the associated gear wind noise .... and a whole lot more. Separate "FD" labelled versions of these aircraft/engine type soundpacks will be provided for FSX and FS2004 specific use.
"WV"/WING VIEW/CABIN SPECIFIC SOUNDPACKS: These soundpacks are intended for use by those seeking high-quality audio based on what can be heard internally and from an exclusively "PAX cabin" perspective only.... whilst also featuring customised external audio too. What is heard in the PAX cabin environment is quite different to what is heard on the flightdeck on any aircraft. For e.g .... using these particular soundpacks one will be treated to the predominant sound of cabin airconditioning and a different type wind friction noise in proportion to the simulations inflight acceleration but with more audible engine noise .... and .... when selecting both flaps and landing gear one will hear the associated flap motors along with a different type of muffled "rumble" of the landing gear extension and gear wind noise .... and a whole lot more. Separate "WV" labelled versions of these aircraft/engine type soundpacks are provided for FSX and FS2004 specific use.
"AI"/AI TRAFFIC SPECIFIC SOUNDPACKS: These particular soundpack versions are intended for use by those seeking high-quality audio for their AI B727 Traffic only. Separate "AI" labelled soundpacks are compiled for each of the 3 B727 aircraft/engine types provided by HJG. These AI specific soundpacks are intended for "FSX use only". These particular soundpacks are not intended for use with UI/standard aircraft base pack files and are FSX compatible only.
PLEASE NOTE ALSO: These soundpacks may be used with non-HJG supplied B727 simulations, but, will not work properly "unless HJG compiled FDE (both the CFG and AIR.FILE data) is used with other simulations". Each of these soundpacks are compiled on the basis of HJG supplied FDE parameters. HJG compiled FDE (CFG files principally) may require further editing in order become fully compatibility with other/non-HJG supplied B727 simulations. HJG "CANNOT", at this time, provide assistance/support for its files when used with non-HJG simulations.
The goodies don't stop with the above-mentioned new releases either ....
A new "V2.2" B727 Panels Gauges/Core Files package will also be released. The only new component within this re-issue will be the Panel related Sound components .... all of which have been resampled and further enhanced for use with the above-described new soundpacks. Both these new B727 soundpacks and this new B727 Panels Gauges/Core Files auduio package work "in conjunction with each other" and must be instaslled together in order to enjoy complete (the intended) audio fidelity. At this stage .... no B727 Panel gauge file replacements are intended.
In the meantime .... enjoy Benoit's video presentations of what we hope will become available enjoy "very soon"
Further development/redevelopment of the HJG B727 flightline continues .... the nature and progress of which will/may (or may not) be advised in due course
