Actually .... there "IS" one last thing you could try Nathan .... and which as follows :-
Try adjusting your FS Sound sliders .... if you haven't done so already.
We offer separate FS9 and FSX specific soundpacks .... same as we do for the DC-10's .... and just as we'll also be offering for the DC-8's too when these soundpacks are released.
The reason for 2 FS specific soundpack options is because each are tailored specifically for the different FS version sound engines .... FSX being superior to this extent.
For each FS version soundpack the FS based Sound slider recomended are there "DIFFERENT" also.
In FS9 the recommended Sound slider settings are as follows ....
- "ENGINES" = 65%
- "cockpit = 30%
- "ENVIRONMENT" = 80%
.... and for FSX these are as follows ....
- "ENGINES" = 70%
- "cockpit" = as required/preferred
- "ENVIRONMENT" = 100%
.... however .... these recommendations are simply "A GUIDE" only .... because most peoples audio devices "DIFFER" as do their audio preferences too.
Each of the sound slider values should be interpreted as the proportion of that particular sound over another .... Engines and Environment usually being the most dominant of all of these.
Without re-reading you above/earlier postings I seem to recall you mentioning a possible issue with regard to the Ground Roll sound .... and which is governed proprtionately by the Environment sound slider position.
It could be that your Environment sound slider position is set "too high" for your system/devices .... therefore .... "try reducing it" .... to about the recommended FS9 value .... then restest .... and then be prepared to make further adjustment/s accordingly.
Just curious to know how this might assist you .... if at all.
Failing this last suggestion .... then YEAH .... I'd suspect something probably has gone wrong in respect of your FSX audio
