I was wondering if someone could create a repaint for United Airlines Mainliner DC-9-10. Thanks Kenny Attachment Deleted

So far as I'm aware .... UA "ever" operated the DC-9 ... in any of it's many variants. We, at HJG, focus upon real world airline histor only .... so .... this wouldn't be a subject we'd consider .... sorry Mark C AKL/NZ

Although they did come very close Attachment DeletedIf I remember member my history correctly, United was originally set up by Boeing so have always had a strong relationship with that company. Nathan

Well there is the story that United had told Douglas' sale team that they were ready to buy the Dc-9 along with more DC-8-60s but Boeing managed to snipe the order with a sweet 727+737-200 order to get the 737 launched. When Douglas showed up later with the contracts, United told them the Dc-9 was off the table.
The reverse happened at Eastern. Boeing had the contract drawn up but Eastern's executives kept them waiting in a room for several hours, then came in and told them they had ordered the Dc-9.

In both cases ,I suppose there were a lot of disappointed executives. Herman

I respect what you say about preserving the airline history. I have many of your A/C & classic liners, I enjoy them very much as this is my generation. My dad was one of test pilot's for DC on 8,9 & 10 until he had several heart attacks and took away his lic. He has been gone for some time. I searched for pics with the United Mainliner on DC-9's came up with the one I used here. I thought they had them, what a shame because it sure looks great. I tried totally understand. Kenny

No problem "SIMLINER" .... no harm in asking .... and if any one of our painters wanted to help you out "as a special favour", then, they're at liberty to do so of course Not uncommon to find old graphics relating to aitline liveries that were never supported by a particular aircraft type .... usually evidence of propositions and/or other negotiations which ultimately never bore fruit .... along with the like of stories such as that sharede by Peter in regard to EAL and the DC-9. I've even have an MDC graphic of an EL AL DC-10-30 .... as well as a BRITISH AIRWAYS "DC-10-50" which was moorted by MDC to be powered by RR RB211 engines, but which, never came to fruition (BA went the L-1011 way), although they "did" later/eventually operate the DC-10-30 following the demise of BRITISH CALEDONIAN. Lots of interesting concepts exist .... like these. Mark C AKL/NZ

Thanks Mark & Tony for reading my post repaint. I thought UAL had a DC-9 apparently they did not. I only want to do the right thing, so if they did not have one then then do not waste your time much appreciated. But I did research on Air California they did have a DC-9-10? That would be a good one if possible. I never learned how to PM, so if you can show me how that would be great. Thanks Kenny
