It's a worry when I get "bored" .... I know Who knows what I'll dream up Some folk might be inclined toward calling the like of these "WHAT IFS" .... but .... I think "AS IFS" would probably ne a much better analogy Sights that'll likely never be seen on the worlds airways .... but then again .... who knows what the future might behold Other than that .... both of these airlines have recently introduced "NEW" liveries anyway, so, "IF" anything like this ever were to happen .... then .... they most certainly wouldn't look like as is depicted above Just "pissing around" .... bored but otherwise .... in a somewhat "CREATIVE MOOD" Even I need a break from the usual routine .... sometimes Mark C AKL/NZ

After the reunifiation of Germany .... and reorganizing of the airline system of former East Germany .... we all wondered if we might see former INTERFLUG IL-18 turboprops in LUFTHANSA livery .... even for a short transitional period It never happened though Mark C AKL/NZ

I always thought the Tu-144 would have looked good in Interflug livery!

You mean the TU-154 don't you .... since the TU-144 was the Soviet SST .... Don't think any of the Russian types operated on the former East German side (by INTERFLUG) made made civil service in the new Germany after reunification .... although having said that I think a couple of IL-62 briefly ended up being operated by the LUFTWAFFE .... on the former Eastern side I presume .... I'm sure Walter will probably have a lot of interesting commentary to share about this .... and other TUPOLEV jetliners Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi friends:
As I tried to explain above:
Two 154Ms (no civil Tu-154s in service of INTERFLUG!) of the ARMY of East Germany ended up with the LUFTWAFFE of the reunified Germany. It was planed to use them for VIP transport and dearmament control. But as one crashed in a midair over South Atlantic that project was stopped. The remaining Tu-154M was sold back to ANTK Tupolev. Same happened with a IL-62M also left over from East German Army, this IL 62 afterward ended up in IRAN and was destroyed in a landing overshoot.
The Tu-134 s of INTERFLUG were sold seems some to Peru. ONLY six IL-18s were serving as German civil airplanes for BERLINE carrying cars and other industrial goods.
The military pilots of East Germany were hired by the LUFTWAFFE. Their MIG 29s became part of the German Airforce and its pilots and mechanics demonstrated superior skills always rating excellent in comparsions with western airplanes and western trained crews.
The pilots of INTERFLUG found jobs in Germany and other countries.
Before 1990 LUFTHANSA was discussing Tu-204 as freighters, but that project did not advance.
Lufthansa was very cautious about Conorde and never discussed a TU-144, even if some experts said that Concorde had the better engines and the Tu-144 the better airframe demonstrating much lower appraoch speeds. The TU-144 never became finished, the Soviet Government lost interest after demonstrating they were able to do it and the Soviet aircraft industry concentrated all its effort on the Tu-154, which also by Western standarts was a comercial success with more than 1000 airplanes built and sold.
Kind regards
Walter

I did this one back in 2006 when I started using FS and begun doing my first steps in repainting. This one, for sure, will never happen. I remember also painting an Aeromexico DC-10 with the "current" metallic livery but I couldn't dinf those pictures and files. If I find them I will share them Best Eddie
