Yes .... the JAL/AEROFLOT agreement over Tokyo/Moscow/Tokyo route "did" commence using TU-114´s .... and which supported additiona "JAPAN AIR LINES" titles as below .... AEROFLOT/JAPAN AIR LINES (1960's) CCCP-76490.... but .... according to the information I sourcd yesterday .... it looks like this service was also supported by the IL-62 shortly before the conclusion of thr JAL/AEROFLOT agreement during 1969 .... and which would also have been no too long after the IL-62 was first introduced to AEROFLOT service .... suggesting also that the aircraft which supported this route/agreement were earlier versions of the IL-62, as was also the case with the KLM/AEROFLOT agreement too .... with the exception of CCCP-86689, during 1971, and which was an IL-62M, KLM/AEROFLOT IL-62 CCCP-86653 (one of the originalk versio IL-62´s) I have photos, at home of one the KLM/AEROFLOT IL-62´s (taken by the late Colin BALLENTYNE .... whom I knew personally and quit well), but, I´m curious as to whether or not any of the IL-62´s, which supported the JAL/AEROFLOT service agreement, actually supported "JAPAN AIR LINES" titles (as per the TU-114) too .... and whether or not any photos exist of it. I found decals for it and which are for the/a correct aircraft in the form of CCCP-86677 .... but .... models, and decals, often aren´t a rliable resource .... OTHER THAN THAT .... The TU-114 is another long range Soviet jetliner which fits well within the political and tehnical era of Russin development that I paryicularly like/that interests me .... AEROFLOT/RUSSIAN STATE TRANSPORT AUTHORITY (1950's .... Nikita KRUSCHEV aircraft) CCCP-75611AEROFLOT (1960's) CCCP-76470AEROFLOT (1970's) CCCP-76485Mark C BOG/CO

Not that I´m aware of .... and so far as I´m aware JAL was only recently "contracted" (during 2000), by the Cuban government, to oprate a series of "charter flights" between Havana and Kansai, and which was the airlines first ever appearnce in Cuba .... as reported here around the time .... aviationweek.com/awin/japan-airlines-will-not-operate-regular-service-cubaOnly the TU-114´s flew to Cuba .... during the 1960´s .... and as a regular/scheduled AEROFLOT service .... operating to Havana via North African ports, and later via Murmansk, following the Arctic route, after they/AEROFLOT lost their African landing rights. I think the IL-62´s did operate into New York though, but, not in association with JAL o anyone else. COMMING BACK TO THE TU-114 THOUGH .... Some 33 civil TU-114´s are known to have been produced by TUPOLEV .... all of which were operated by AEROFLOT (of course) .... but .... 4 of which were also operated jointly between JAL and AEROFLOT, on the Tokyo/Moskow route, between 1967 and 1969. The 4 aircraft which supported this particular service were .... CCCP-76464 CCCP-76470 CCCP-76474 CCCP-76490 The TU-114 rmained the wordls largest civil airacraft .... until the advent of the DC-8-61 and -63. It had a very respectable performance and eqully imressive capabilities too .... being only slight slower than the B707 .... with MGTOW of 250,000 LBS .... and a range of some 6,700 miles. More about this impressive aircraft .... and it´s simulation too .... can be red "HERE" .... No way Cubana would of had any interest in cooperation with JAL. They just leased the same plane later in it's history, probably waiting for it's own IL62s.

Not only that .... but .... I imagine that "if" JAL had serviced Hanana, even in association with CUBANA, then, they´d probably have a bit of explaining to do, to the USA also, given the poltical climate which prevailed throughout the 1860´s Mark C BOG/CO

Well if JAL was flying in the 1860s I think they REALLY have some explaining to do But really, no they probably wouldn't of had much issue with the US... Canadian airlines flown in to Cuba pretty much since the revolution, even leased airplanes to Cubana... the DC-8-43 bombed as Cubana 455 was leased from Air Canada (ex-C-FTJI).

And now that I got all back into my interest in the VC-10ski... I find all but 2 of my textures (Interflug and 90s Aeroflot) for the PT IL62 are lost when i had my FS drive crash a couple years ago And apparently the old Cubana textures were lost in the AVSIM hack I liked flying YYZ-YMX-HAV round the horn... Oh well... maybe I'll try the Tu154 again... never really gave it a chance.

UMMMM .... I can probably help you out there Peter, but, won´t be able to do so until I return to New Zealand during February .... or March. Just remind of you need "THEN" .... and I´ll be glad to whack whatver you want up to you. So far as I´m aware .... I have pretty much everything that was available (as per my presentation on PP1 of this thread) .... but unfortunately .... and whilst I do hav the IL-62 instlled here (in Colombia) .... I only have 3 textures for it. Everything else is back at home Mark C BOG/CO
