Hi friends: As I have posted above: Many very good repaints of Il-62Ms and Tu-154B2 and Tu-154M are available (for free!) at Pipes Hangar in FRIENDLYFLUSI: www.friendlyflusi.at/index.php?page=DownloadDBView&categoryID=16Regarding the IL-62: There were really two versions the plain IL-62 and the 62M. The plain had Kuznezov engines and the M the Solovievs. These put an end to the lack of power and range the IL-62 which had giving reason to the Sowjet Pilots to joke, that the IL 62 takes off only thanks to the curvature of the earth. The M has also modern long range navigation equipment like INS and GPS. As the IL-62 was the direct replacment of the Tu-114 (against the pilots will) there could be an overlap in the usage of Tu-114s and IL-62s in the JAL-Aeroflot cooperation. The Il-62 entered Aeroflots regular service with september 1967 the Tu-114 operated in civil service till the end of 1976 in military service till 1983. The IL-62 in the above picture with the JAL emblem must be a plain IL-62, as the IL-62M entered service 1971 after the JAL-Aeroflot cooperation ended. Funny detail: Today there exists codesharing between JAL and AEROFLOT on the route Tokio Moscow. Kind regards Walter

Herman, Thanks but i meant those are the 2 i still have working... my other 5 entries (Cubana old, CAAC, Aeroflot 70s, and 80s and LOT 80s) are all damaged or empty. I have found CAAC, LOT and the Aeroflots, but not the Cubana Only the 90s Cubana scheme seems to be out there for the PT model, and by the time those colors came along Cubana was flying leased AOM DC-10s to YMX and had dropped YYZ so I never saw them. When Cubana came back to YYZ it used IL-96s a few times but mostly leased A320s (1st TACA, and now very boring looking Blue Wings). Anyways I reinstalled both PT Tu-154 models (B-2 and M) this morning... going to start looking for suitable textures tonight As I'm trying to teach myself Russian right now via Duolingo, should be an interesting attempt!

Hi Peter: AVSIM.SU is available in Russian and Englisch, if you look for repaints of the IL-62 and Tu-154b2 and M you will find more than you need, but with the Tu-154M take care there are repaints for a non PT model called VITAMIN, there is the saying that these are better than the originals, but I did not try them,. Both models work with the PT-airfiles and the panel. The Tu-154b2 is available also for FSX, not so the Tu-154M and the IL-62M. But I repeat Pipes repaints are worthwile to try. If you want I can send to you the two IL-6s Cubana. Kind regards Walter

Hi Peter:
Even I with my interest for Russian airliners am surprised that AERONICA had used the Tu-154s.
Kind regards
Walter

Yes they got one Tu-154M during the Sandanista era when the US embargo was on for 727/737 parts and they also had to ground their 720 as non-stage 2 compliant. they also picked up some Antonov AN-24s and 26s. The 154 flew routes like Managua-Mexico, Managua-Havana-Port Au Prince, Managua-Caracas and Managua-San Salvador, but only flew to Miami on a couple occasions at the end of the embargo. They sold the plane to Cubana as soon as parts for the Boeings were available again, though i think the Antonovs stuck around until Aeronica folded in 92. www.airliners.net/search?registrationActual=YN-CBT&display=detailGuyana had a Tu-154B-2 leased from TAROM (crashed soon after being returned from engine failure on training flight), a Tu-154M they bought (sold to Aeroflot), an IL-62M leased from Aeroflot and an AN-24 and YaK-40 leased from CUBANA... along with 737-200s, 707-320B/Cs, HS748s and Twin Otters (and later A300-600, 757-200, etc)... cannot find any of the Soviet types for them I might paint the 154s and IL-62 for Guyana... Both types I recall seeing as a kid, the 154M showed up in YYZ every summer... in fact it had issues because the jetways didn't mate properly (i think there was an issue with the door height???) and when it rained/snowed they had to use the aft doors/stairs to board them. I recall seeing the 154M parked off stand between Terminal 1 and 2, i think it sat all day and left in the evening, I think it flew GEO-POS-MIA-YYZ and return bi-weekly, and the 707 flew GEO-YYZ (maybe GEO-POS-YYZ) tri-weekly.
