I just installed some DC-9 aircraft (-10 and -30) as I did with many other HJG aircraft. But with these models I have a problem: The gear and flaps can neither be operated by using the keyboard keys nor by using the buttons of the joystick. Did somebody face the same problem and can give me advise how to solve this problem?

Skycruiser, your post doesn't not mention weather you have installed the DC-9 -10/-30 in FS2004 or FSX, note that the DC-9 panel is not compatible with FSX. In order for the flaps/gear to operate, you must activate the hydraulic system. tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/3435/hjg-panel-installation-handling-notesIf you scroll down to section 1.2: MAIN PANEL - SECONDARY ENGINE INSTRUMENTS you'll see a picture showing how to activate the hydraulic system. This sub panel features the landing gear lights, landing gear lever, TAS guage, Hydraulics System switches and gauges, Oil Pressure gauges, Oil Temperature gauges, Oil Quantity gauges, Engine #2 F/F, Flap gauge, and both Fuel Used and Fuel Reset selector switches. The Hydraulics System is of paramount importance on this sub panel and is located within the small "HYD PUMPS" section of this sub panel. The Hydraulics System features 4 separate hydraulics switches. The 2 center hydraulics switches must each be set to the "HI" position. Failure to do this will result in both the flaps and landing gear not functioning. It is recommended that the 2 center hydraulics switches each be "clicked twice" to ensure they are set to the fully up/"HI" position. When these switches are set correctly the needles on both Hydraulics Pressure gauges (located above the Hydraulics switches) will each rotate to indicate "3" .... confirming that sufficient hydraulics pressure is available for both the flaps and landing gear to function normally. The Flap gauge is also displayed on this sub panel. On the ground .... keyboard command "F7" will cycle the Flaps, incrementally, through the following detentes and all the way down to the maximum FLAP 50 detente .... Benoit

Hi Benoit
Oops, I missed your linked page - it explains this all! Thank you very much for this link, I will try it out now. BTW: I still use my beloved FS2004.
Best regards Olivier

Benoit is "ABSOLUTELY RIGHT" .... using any lof our DC-9 panels the Hydraulics System switches, located on the sencondary engine instruments sub panel, must all be activated "first" .... or .... neither the flaps nor the landing gear can function. As per the following extract for our above-linked forum base online DC-9 manual .... "IF" .... anyone's new to the HJG DC-9 simulations ans is using our HILMERBY/CARTY/HJG DC-9 panels (these are the latest versions of the original HILMERBY panel featurihg a number of fixes and improvements/additional features), then, it's essential to read/familiarize oneself with these manuals These DC-9 panels are fairly complex .... but .... takinmg this into account our supporting manual (and its accompanying tutorials)is quite comprehensive .... and once learned these panels are "a breeze" as much as they're also "a pleasure" to fly These DC-9 panels are for FS2004 "only" though. Other non-HJG supplied FSX compatible DC-9 panel options may not be entirely compatible with the HJG DC-9 FDE .... "just something that needs being borne-in-mind" since it's something often not generally appreciated by all users and/or developers. Mark C AKL/NZ

Didn't work for my flaps problem.
My flaps dont work incrementally, F8 flaps go all the way down to 50, F5 flaps all the way up, f6 and f7 happens nothing. gear works normal. sub hydraulic panel configerd as in this post
Fs9 on windows10
Download Hjg dc 9 50 jt8d 17 panel v1
curious what i'm doing wrong this time.

Not sure how these DC-9 panels work with WIN 10 but having said that I've not heard anything/received any information to suggest they don't work or their functionalities are limited using this OS .... provided these panels/simulations are installed in FS9/FS2004. These panels aren't FSX portable though. You may inadvertently have only set the 2 center HYD switches to "ON" .... to their "LO" positions. Check that both center switches are actually set to their "HI" positions. It requires "2 clicks" on each in order achieve this. Ensure the 2 other switches, at the the extreme left and right of the HYD panel, are set to to their fully up/"ON" positions. It should only require 1/a single click of each to achieves this. Use "F7" (only) to extend the slats/flaps "incrementally" to their "FLAP 50/FULL FLAPS" position. Use "F6" (only) to similarly retract the slats/flaps "incrementally" to their "FLAPS O" position "F8" will cycle the slats/flaps ("non-incrementally") all the way down to their "FLAP 40"position only (if FLAP 50 is set then selecting "F8" will reset/retract the flaps to "FLAP 40"). "F5" will cycle the slats/flaps ("non-incrementally") all the way to their "FLAP 0" position only. This is how the DC-9 slats/flaps are intended to be used and work. Note the following details re the slats/flaps between DC-9 versions too .... it's quite important .... Use the following link to access our forum based DC-9 manual .... especially if you're new to HJG and these DC-9 simulations .... Solved!!
Read the manual and you got to start with the default Cessna, so i did and and guess what the flaps didnt work there either. Then i went to keyboard assignments and saw the F6 and F7 keys blanco no assignments. Reassingned them to the flaps and the flaps now working normally again. 25 yrs of flightsimulation and this never occured to me, the keyboard assignments away just gone.
Thanks and best regards William

Never heard of, or experienced, that myself either .... and nothing forming any part of our DC-9 "panels" requires specific keyboard assigning in order to promote its functionality. In fact the only item requiring any assignment is in regard to the retractable airstairs animation at DOOR 1L on each DC-9 3D model. If (for whatever reason) you temporarily lost those default keyboard based flap assignments then I assume such would have implicated every simulation (default and add-on) you have installed .... and not just the DC-9's.
Loading the default CESSNA "prior to" selecting one's intended simulation is "recommended" (but not entirely essential .... the DC-10's don't require it at all though) .... only because, in the case of more complex panels, doing so simply ensures all features and systems load in accordance with their basic default settings. Such should also be done whenever changing add-on aircraft types within any FS flying session too .... only because FS will always transfer one scenario/configuration to the next and which can then cause inconveniences for some panels/simulations. Loading a default simulation "prior to" selecting any add-on one, or between changes within the same FS session, works like a basic/simple re-set.

I've had two "assignment" issues lately with FS9. One unsolved. I assume it's due to my install being "old" in that the last full reinstall was about 8 years ago, and the bits being slowly lost are catching up with me. I have Brake release and Autopilot disconnect linked to two buttons on my CH yoke. Last week they no longer worked. Had to go in and reassign them, then everything OK. Absolutely no reason the assignments should suddenly disappear.
Larger problem: about 3 months ago Shift-E to open the door started causing an immediate CTD. Even if an aircraft's panel has an icon for opening the door it also causes a CTD. I replaced the FS9 application with a copy from a backup and also rebuilt the FS cfg file to no avail. Not willing at this point to do a complete reinstall so I just live with not opening doors. The lost bits are eventually going to crash the whole system.

How often do you "DEFRAG" (in particular) and also perform a "COMPLETE SYSTEM SCAN" (assuming your FS/fun machine is internet connected) Mike ? Wondering also to what extent, and over how long a period, you might possibly have slowly fallen victim to the dreaded M$ updates My FS9 installation is "way older" than yours and has "never" been reinstalled (nor have I ever engaged "SYSTEM RESTORE" either), but, has been "extensively modified" .... over time. The PC and OS supporting it are "even older" too .... but .... I regularly maintain it and have always kept it "right away from the internet" and which has possibly saved me from potential grief. My system will eventually "FAIL" through age (I know that) .... and at which point I then become "a full time PLASTIC SURGEON" (which is what I prefer doing anyway) rather than a part time one tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/7876/latest-modelling-projectGot something I might send you to try out and which may resolve your doors issue/s at least, but, will discuss this with you privately later on. Mark, I defrag regularly and also use CCleaner. If you remember 8 years ago I lost my FS install due to an MS update; that was my last reinstall. Since then all MS updates have been disabled. The computer is connected to the internet as I use ActiveSky. I can't imagine flying without real, updated weather. If I lost that, I would probably give up flight simming. I like being able to plan a flight based on what the actual weather is in reality and changing dynamically. I'll try your "gift" and see what happens. Thanks. Mike
