Does anyone have the modifed dll for improved ground friction? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What particular aircraft/panel combination are you apparently experiencing ground friction issues withe "OZ" ? Having queried this I hasten to add .... we can only comment/advise (here) in regard to this issue as i might apply to any of our own simulations. We do acknowledge that "some" (not all) of our simulations "do" exhibit ground friction issues .... requiring a fairly high doses of power in order to satrt moving, and to then maingtain a modest ground taxiing speed (15-20 KTS), but, despite this "minor ground handling inconvenience" these same simulations are then perfectly fine once airborne. The severity of ground friction issues can also vary in accordance with some addon-sceneries too. I don´t know if I´d recommend using any module/utilty in order to try´n address such issues though (unless one really knows what one´s doing) .... if you´re in fact contemplating doing that. Ground friction is .... occasionally .... something that needs to be tolerated in FS Repair a ground friction problem with a particular simulation might then result in that same simulation becomming "overpowered" once airborne. Well, I got no problems overall with the HJG aircraft. That's all I'm using at the moment. But I think its been a general problem in FS9 for some time. I just wanted to try it out and see what it does. I'm always fiddling.

"FIDDLING" .... can be a very exhilarating and educational experience (expecially when the results are successful) .... since that´s how we/most of us learn anyway .... "per simple trial and error" (that´s why FS is also known as "FRIGHT STIMULATOR") .... BUT .... it can also be dangerous if not very very frustrating encumberance too. Best I can say is .... be "CAUTIOUS" if inquisitive .... and remember also .... "CURIOSIY" is what eventually got the cat killed Mark C BOG/CO

Yes i am. :)Flew a few legs in my Alaska 727-100 with the J8D-7’s i think. VOR only. Great fun! Awesome!!! Do not forget special event this Sunday night at 6:30 pm EST to commemorate Alaska Airline's final farewell flight of 737-400 Combi from PAJN to PANC!! By the way, I firmly believe that sim1.dll error message is result of bad livery textures or using wrong texture files on a model base, or bad livery textures from AI planes or conflict of same liveries between AI plane and your same plane. Happened to me before and I solved the problem by turning off AI. I do NOT think that sim1.dll has do to with ground textures. Regards, Aharon

Ah ok. Sounds like fun. I haven't flown online for a long time. One day I'll get back to it. I should've clarified a bit more what I was after. A few years ago - at least - somebody made a modified sim1dll. In that dll there is some complex coding as to the ground roll friction of FS9. So if you need say, 50-60% N1 to get rolling, after the new sim1dll, you maybe only need 30-40% or so. A little more realistic. And it seems to make the aircraft a little less 'ice-skatey' as it rolls along. All the links from years ago no longer work and nobody seems to have it anymore. A shame. I always wanted to try it. My HEX editing skills are non-existent otherwise I'd try it myself.

Thanks mate! An interesting mod. I wish Hex editing wasn't so difficult. I could mess around more with it.
