I am in the process of updating my HJG DC9's.
Since there are a number of different Model Base Packs with numerous engine types I was unable to find a compolation list matching the airline textures as is provided for the Boeing 727-200 ADV Models.
For example.....Air Canada DC-9-30...what type of engine was it equipped with ( JT8D-9 or JT8D-11.??)
Perhaps this kind of information is still in progress and has not yet been published on our Forum.
Wikapedia does have some information on this subject which I can use in lieu of.

The "RZJETS" website is probably ones best source of such information. All one has to do is enter an aircraft registration in order to search its data base .... and it will locate that specific aircraft, with it´s C/N, L/N, prodution and F/F dates , and known history too .... "including its specific engine type in most cases also", but, generally only in regard to it´s current or latest engine type in the event of it being a later modified aicraft. My own reserach indicates most of the AIR CANADA DC-9´s .... certainly their -10´s and -30´s bearing "-TL" registration suffixes were all JT8D-7 powered .... whereas those -30´s bearing "-TM" registration suffixes appear to have been JT8D-9 powered. You need to state a specific aircraft registratioj in order for me to iuindicate a specific aircraft base pack/engeine type/panel/engine typpe configuration."YES" .... I did start preparing a spread sheet listing all of the HJG DC-9 liveries (to cobver this sort of eventruality) .... and stating the precise aircraft base pack/engine type for each individual texture abnd in otrder to aid panel/engine type matching, but, I can only progress it in accordance with what liberty I have to be able to prepare it. It "WILL" happen .... this information "WILL" eventually be posted .... but .... not before Christmas given my current HJG work load In any case .... any "DC-9 aircraft type" texture can be use with any DC-9 aircraft type base pack" .... bu .... in "EVERY CASE" .... the aircraft type/engine type base packs and aircraft type/engine type panels "MUST BE MATCHED .... as is clearly state within SECTIONS !:2 and 1:3 of our following forum base online DC-9 manual .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/3435/hjg-panel-installation-handling-notesMark C BOG/CO

OK...Thanks Mark for that information. No rush for the compilation list. I will have a look at the RZJets website.
After doing a bit more research it appears that most HJG DC-9-30's textures at least, are series 31 or 32's.
According to the information in wickepedia the -31's were initially equipped with the JT8D-7 engines and the -32's with the JT8D-9 engines, however as you mention, some of these aircraft could have been re-engined later.

According to our DC-9-10 texture invenory we have 2 AIR CANADA DC-9-10 textures .... as follows and also powered as follows too ....
DC-9-14 CF-TLD .... JT8D-7 powered - use DC-9-10 JT8D-7 base pack and DC-9-10 JT8D-7 panel DC-9-15RC CF-TOT .... JT8D-7 powered - use DC-9-10CF/F JT8D-7 base pack and DC-9-10 JT8D-7 panel
According to our DC-9-30 texture invenory .... we have 5 AIR CANADA DC-9-30 textures .... as follows and also powered as follows too ....
DC-9-31 CF-BKT .... JT8D-7 powered - use DC-9-30 JT8D-7 base pack and DC-9-30 JT8D-7 panel DC-9-31 CF-TME (X2) .... JT8D-7 powered - use DC-9-30 JT8D-7 base pack and DC-9-30 JT8D-7 panel (for both) DC-9-32 CF-TMH .... JT8D-9 powered - use DC-9-30 JT8D-9 base pack and DC-9-30 JT8D-9 panel DC-9-32CF CF-TMN .... JT8D-9 powered - use DC-9-30CF/F JT8D-9 base pack and DC-9-30 JT8D-9 panel
According to my references "NONE" of the above were ever re-engined.
Any Dc-9 aircraft type/engine type base pack may be used with any DC-9 texture for that same corresponding DC-9 aircraft type .... HOWEVER .... the corresponding engine type panel for that same DC-9 aicraft type must always be used with each DC-9 aircraft/engine type base pack. Failure to ensure this will result in the panels weight calculator not generating the correct V-REF data for T/O´s and landings .... due to the tie up between both the IAS and weight calculator guages within each panel .... and as is also clearly refeenced within my above-linked forum based DC-9 manual.

All Air Canada DC-9-32s delivered from 1967-1973 were equipped with JT8D-7 engines, at no time were they ever up rated to higher variants during the time they were with the airline.

"THANKS" Benoit So .... there you go Herman .... stick with P&W JT8D-7 base packs and panels for the "the lot" .... for both AC DC-9-10 and DC-9-30 livery options .... in accordance with Benoit´s advice since he dhould know better than any of us due to his long standing AC connection. Just goes to shoe .... even the best of official or most trusted references aren´t always infallable Mark C BOG/CO

Hmmm...thanks for the information Mark and Benoit. Looks like I will have to change my Base Packs and Panel to the JT8D-7 then.
