Just a tip from an old simmer... Ericks Vistaliner 737's have been around for a WHILE. Before you ask for a texture here I'd suggest a swing through the Flightsim.com and Avsim, (and possibly the Simviation sites) file libraries to see if something you are looking for has already been done. Im sure we will paint some newer versions, but there are MANY paints out there available for these models already which are quite good. Any decent search for Vistaliners + 737 should result in a lot of hits. Make sure you have the Vistaliners version and not the slightly older Kittyhawk one. The textures will not work on the new model. Good luck!

Please refer to my elaboration on these details per the following thread .... tonymadgehjg.proboards.com/thread/8819/on-new-737-500s-libraryNot disagreeing with Jim .... because he's actually "quite right" in regard to any number of cases, but, there are other details which people do need to be aware of if contemplating using older textures (for the older models) with our "NEW" models. They may see a difference when viewing these older textures on our "NEW" models ..... and if they do .... then .... what I've mentioned per the above linked conversation is the reason for that. Just want everyone to be fully aware .... that's all .... so thins query hopefully doesn't keep coming up Mark C AKL/NZ

I have checked the freeware flight simulator sights for a Southwest Airlines livery for the HJG B733 model yet as aerofoto-HJG has stated, "there are other details which people do need to be aware of if contemplating using older textures (for the older models) with our "NEW" models." I became very reluctant to try to apply them. I generally wait for something like this to be available in HJG Downloads. I was contemplating requesting a Southwest Airlines livery for the HJG Boeing 737-300. The B733 was the last 737 classic Southwest Airlines flew. It was retired this year in favor of the 737-MAX. A nice read about the final Southwest Airlines B733 flight found here airwaysmag.com/special-flights/onboard-southwests-last-boeing-737-300-flight-welcome-max-era/Southwest Airlines is no longer flying 737 classics. Their fleet is 737-700/800 and now 737-MAX. For the livery the classic SWA paint in the image as shown on the final flight story page is good idea. If I remember right some of their 737 Classics were also painted in different schemes like Canyon Blue. Despite the little bit of controversy in the airline's history I have had some respect for them because of their fine flight attendants and professional pilots. Nearly all their flights are direct to and no stop overs.

Allow me to try'n further clarify .... There's absolutely no harm in trying them .... it won't break or hurt anything Just be aware that "some" (not all) of the old textures for the old/original models might not (I don't say they won't) look the same when applied to out new models. They'll work (if they're texture compositions based on 10X BMP files) .... and at worst will probably just lack a bit of luster/dynamic sheen or their natural metal surfaces ay look somewhat artificial .... as opposed to our our "NEW" textures which are compiled especially for our "NEW" models. Again ... .no harm in trying .... and you can't break anything trying .... and if people don't try then they won't know About the prospect of SWA B737 texture here .... for the -300 and -500 .... I think these have been reserved for Benny in the new year. Mark C AKL/NZ

I seen a video of what it takes to texture an airplane on Twitch.tv A X-Plane developer was streaming his work in progress. I think it's fair to say the amount of time it takes to make a FS2004 aircraft texture is equally as time consuming. I appreciate all the hard work done here at HJG. Benny sure does make magnificent paints.
