There was also an MD-80 that had the same fuselage stripes but the tail stayed in conventional livery. The fuselage titles were also conventional. The aircraft was used extensively in advertising with Hertz.
The paint scheme was also used on the BA-146. It looked good there
In the last few month before their merger with USAir, I think the paint shop was given a free hand to do whatever they wanted. There were some bizarre airplanes flying around.
Go to Google "PSA MD80" to see some. John

Best to present photographic evidence per links (if taking these from another website then always credit the photograpgher and website accordingly) .... since it lets "everyone" quickly see what you're referring too .... AND .... saves us loosing time doing the foot work looking for what we may not necessarily know exists whilst we're also trying to advance other things. Post them as an extension to this thread .... or .... on the REPAINT REQUESTS forum page No guarantee they'll ever be painted though .... since we're not a repaint service. The REPAINT REQUESTS forum page is simply a medium through which "anyone" may request something .... and "only if it appeals or is otherwise convenient with our staff painters interests", then, it "might" get done Mark C AKL/NZ

We do have that last PSA photo livery .... in "MD-82" form as follows .... .... BUT .... we don't have it in "MD-81" form (if that's applicable) .... so .... "IF" you wanted to do it (in "MD-81") form then that's fine Erik. PSA is both a colourful an popular historic livery among our classic B727's DC-9's, L-1011's, and MD-80's Mark C AKL/NZ
