Thanks Peter! I can always appreciate a lively and colorful livery, and there certainly wasn't a shortage of those. Here are their aforementioned hybrid liveries seen on some of their secondhand aircraft- no prizes for guessing the previous owners! 727-29 PP-CJJ, 1974 727-30C PP-VLV, 1980

Nice additions for the Brasil Nuts among us Let me try'n guess .... "SN" and "LH" ? As I've said many times .... sometimes its the hybrids that are equally as important as, if not more than, the definitive liveries within any fleet .... and presenting these, in this type of FS media, is another way of remembering/recording airline history .... and which is precisely what the "H" in "HJG" is all about Mark C AKL/NZ

Well, here are a couple more for ya VASP was another one of Brazil's historically dominant airlines, and had the largest domestic network of all of them for quite a while (in contrast to Varig, which served primarily as its overseas carrier). In late 1979, they acquired their first 727s to support their cargo operations (also being a pair of ex-Lufthansa combis, which were even less disguised than Cruzeiro's); this is 727-30C PP-SRY as seen in May 1980: They also received the first of what eventually became 13 727-200s in 1980, and this is 727-2A1/Adv PP-SNG as it appeared when new:

Brasil's "PORTGUESE" .... not Spanish .... but there are similarities in both idioms. Nice tail scarring on the ex-LH acquisition Erik Mark C AKL/NZ

Crossing back to the other side of the Atlantic briefly, here are a couple variations on D-AHLR, a 727-89 of Hapag-Lloyd. Originally delivered in 1966 to Japan Domestic Airlines (precursor to TDA and JAS), it made its way to Germany in November 1975. In the summer of 1982, it was leased to Condor, which resulted in the orange stripe part of the livery being removed, while also getting the appropriate titles and tail. By August, it had returned to Hapag-Lloyd, and wore the simplified livery with the regular tail until it was passed to Scibe Airlift in Zaire in May 1983. June 1982: August 1982:

Wow!!! Great Job, Erik!!
Tha latest Cruzeiro livery is, in my opinion, the most beautiful scheme used by a Brazilian 727.

Thank you! It was definitely an attractive one, and I have to say it looked pretty good on the Mad Dog, too: This is PP-CJM as it looked in early 1983; nominally it was leased to Varig for about three months, but spent that whole time with Cruzeiro. I think it was also the only MD-80-series aircraft to ever be registered in Brazil. The partial white paint comes from its time in the basic Aeromexico livery as the "Friendship '83" promotional aircraft, and it returned to that scheme after leaving Brazil.

Jesus Christ, my lord. Those Cruzeiro paints were an cupid's arrow straight in da' heart! WOW! I can't wait to have them in my sim! Also, enjoying the PT/PR/PP flow... I have to ask with all my heart for you to continue with those paints! For the love of a brazillian hehehe. The 727 was one of the most loved regional aircrafts that had been in the colors of all the majors here in the country, landing at all the airports and NEVER to be forgotten with those amazing sounds blasting all around our open landscapes, specially in my city (Rio de Janeiro) where whenever a 727 took off, you could hear from near anywhere in the city. And also, if you have the words with da' man that does the 737, leave that special note of the PT/PR/PP flow for him... the 737s here had MANY MANY MANY colours and special schemes for years and I really miss them in the sim. Don't mistake me please, i'm not demanding anything... just praising a good work and hoping for more Felipe

It's been a lot of fun to paint the colorful ones, and I do have another -100 planned. Glad you like the ones I've done so far! In the meantime, old-ish birds always look good in new clothes, so here's LOT's 737-45D SP-LLE in its current modernized livery in 2018:
