Further to Bill ALICIA's recent query concerning LE Flap/Slat animations on our B737-300/400/500 models .... and to demonstrate the fact we "DO" take all reports seriously and investigate accordingly.
Paul has re-examined the data we inherited for each of these models .... and discovered an error in the "original coding" for their flap/slat animations.
This error has probably been there for years .... since the last compilation of these same 3D models and prior to our inheriting this same data for them.
"NONE" of the modifications we applied to the new models implicated or was associated with any of the wing flap/slat animations .... so .... we've been totally unaware of this discrepany all along and more-so given the fact none of are B737 pilots.
ANYWAY ....
We've corrected the error and the LE flaps/slats are now working as they should .... "in so far as this is practiceable in FS" .... although complete/absolute fidelity within FS isn't always achievable and (some) folk perhaps "do" need to understand that.
There are 8 LE/TE wing flap/slat settings in these 3D models .... and fortunately all of these positions correspond precisely with the selectable flap/slat detentes featured within the B737-300/400/500 panel we currently host/offer.
Subject to the 3D model flap/slat code for these models having now been "corrected" .... this's how these animations will now function ....
# 1 selection - extends outboard LE slats per 1 increment (only) .... and LE inboard Kruger flaps too .... and TE FLAP 1* setting
# 2 selection - extends TE FLAP 2* setting.
# 3 selection - extends TE FLAP 5* setting.
# 4 selection - extends outboard LE slats fully .... and TE FLAP 10* setting.
# 5 selection - extends TE FLAP 15* setting.
# 6 selection - extends TE FLAP 25* setting.
# 7 selection - extends TE FLAP 30* setting.
# 8 selection - extends TE FLAP 40*/"FIULL FLAPS" setting.
The same works in reverse order too during flap/slat retraction.
These new animations are consistent with the real world video and manual data we've been able to source (for the B737-300/400/500 at least) .... so .... what we'll soon be offering is the best we can currently achieve given our knowledge/skills base and also based on the model data we currently have access to also.
New B737-300/400/500 base packs .... for all aircraft versions .... will be released in due course ....
PLEASE NOTE THEY "ARE NOT" AVAILABLE/RELEASED YET !!!! These latest 3D model edits "WILL NOT" impact either our current textures or FDE/flight modeling.
We want to thank Paul HAAK for his kind efforts in successfully addressing this issue for us ....
"THANKS" Paul Mark C
