Flying after more than a month. Decided to do a flight from the Turkish Airlines 1976 schedule. Also, decided to try out the DC-9-14 as i've never flown it before. Aircraft is TC-JAA powered by Pratt & Whitney JT8D-7 engines. Preflighting at the gate. 54 passengers and 4700kgs of cargo, bringing a total ZFW of 31.7 tonnes. Fuel burn estimate is 2400kgs. Total fuel including alternate and contingency is 6100kgs. Taxiing to runway 36R Takeoff run Liftoff Climbout Some mountains Crusing at FL320 On descent Approaching Touchdown Great flight. Can't say i like this plane as much as the DC-9-32. Maybe its cos im more used to flying the 32. Fuel consumption was about 200kgs lesser than expected. Now gotta look for something out of Istanbul.

Depends which base pack/panel versions of the DC-9-10 you selected. Ours (from memory) are P&W JT8D-1, D-5, and D-7 powered .... and their F/F calibrations are each different relative to simulated weight, cruising altitude, and power setting for airspeed at altitude. This applies to all our DC-9's .... George did quite a good job replicating these details for these simulations. In the case of the DC-9-10 .... the D-1 version should demonstrate the highest fuel burn .... and which is why most originally D-1 powered aircraft were quickly converted to D-7 power.
