This's one we've been wanting to add for quite a while .... the BRANIFF INTERNATIONAL AIRWAYS B727-200 which supported an early 1980's mural by Alexander CALDER ....and which resulted in this particular aircraft becoming affectionately known (by aircrew) as the "Sneaky Snake" Only now .... and "THANKS" to Andre REIMERS' efforts .... has this been possible to do this .... BRANIFF INTERNATIONAL AIRWAYS B737-291 N408BN "The Sneaky Snake"/Alexander Calder (1981)"Not a particularly easy texture subject to undertake" since most FS models impose certain limitations .... especially in regard to rendering flat texture BMP's, featuring a multipice of curved details, over rounded 3D model surfaces (some distortion is unavoidable/inevitable with the resulting stretch and wrap adaption) .... but .... with a little determination, and a degree "artistic licence" too, Andre has been able to represent this one for our "early production" B727-200 model/s .... as best can be achieved given some of the limitations that confront us concerning liveries of this unusual a nature. I'll add images of the other side later .... when I (if) have time to do so Mark C AKL/NZ

Hi Mark:
Wonderful repaint! Len Morgan who was captain with BRANIFF on 707, 727 and 747 wrote once in "FLYING" that the pilots of these flying pieces of art (there were other paintscemes by Alex Calder also on Braniff airplanes) were exposed to bad jokes, gossip etc by pilots of other airlines for the unusal apperence of their birds. Maybe it was envy?
Kind regards
Walter

Just light hearted fun/rivaly I s'pose .... given the same occurs today also I remember when AIR PACIFIC (Fiji) introduced their colourful mid 1980's livery style .... we all called it "The Taubmans Dip Stick" (Taubmans were a major regional paint producer of that era) for the following obvious reasons .... .... excuse the divergence Mark C AKL/NZ
